Port Charles Update for Tuesday, 14-Dec-1999

The show starts with Rachel in D.V.'s hospital room. She is telling him that she is still continueing with their plan. She will soon get Julie out and then she will reunite Julie with her child. D.V. tells her that she can't do that now, things have changed. Rachel says that nothing has changed, unless D.V. was holding out on something. He tells her that Scott is really his son. Rachel wants to know if he is sure. D.V. says that he saw the blood tests himself. He is very sure that Scott is his son. Rachel tells D.V. that this changes nothing. She is still going to get Julie out and reunite her with her child. D.V. warns her not to double cross him on this. She insists that he does not have a choice. They are sticking to the original plan and he cannot do anything about it.

Courtney however is in intensive care. The baby is still doing okay. However Courtney has an internal abdominal bleed. She needs surgery to stop the bleeding. The doctors are afraid that it could be her liver. Courtney insists that she will be fine. She will not have surgery because it could jeapordize the baby.

Taggert comes to the hospital to question Karen and Courtney about the accident. Scott insists on sitting in on Karen's questioning. Karen says that she was going to see Courtney. She was making a call on her cellphone and then she saw headlights coming straight at her. She swirved to the right, but she maintained control of her car. However, Courtney did not maintain control of her car. Taggart asks Karen if she was on her side of the road. She insists that she was. Taggart asks her if she was certain, considering the snow and the storm. Karen says to the best of her knowledge that she was on her side of the road.

Meanwhile Joe tells Frank that Courtney's blood levels are dropping. She must have surgery within the next few minutes or she could die. If she dies then there will be no baby for Neil and he would loose his mother too.

Frank is gently talking to Courtney. She insists that she can lay perfectly still and not move until the baby comes to term. She doesn't want to take any chances on loosing the baby. Frank insists that if she doesn't have the surgery there would be no baby or no Courtney. At that time the baby's heart monitor goes off.

When the doctors check Courtney they realize that she has lost the baby. Everyone is very upset. They still insist to Courtney that she must have surgery now. Frank and Courtney spend a short moment together. Courtney is very afraid of dying. Frank tells her not to be afraid that he is going to be right there for her. He will not leave and she will be fine. Frank tells Courtney that he loves her. Then they wheel her to surgery
