While Courtney is sleeping on the couch, she dreams of the accident and wakes up. Joe tries to comfort her when she tells him how upset she is about the loss of the baby. In the kitchen, Frank answers the back door. It's Karen. She has gifts for Neil. She comes in and tells Frank that she thinks it's great that he and Courtney have become close so quickly. She has flashbacks of finding the photos of Frank and Courtney. She starts to dig for information on Courtney and Frank's relationship. She wants to know when they became close. Frank is evasive. Karen tells him that she found a picture of Courtney and Frank kissing. Frank thinks it's no big deal. Everyone knows they are a couple now. Karen says the picture was taken in 1989. She comes right out and asks Frank if he and Courtney were lovers ten years ago. Is he Neil's father? Was he the father of Courtney's baby? Frank denies everything. He tells Karen that he thinks she would like to think that he and not Joe is the father. This might ease her conscience about the accident. Karen says that she sees how Frank acts around Neil. Frank says he's Neil's uncle. Joe comes in and Frank goes to be with Courtney. Karen tells Joe that she wishes she could change the events of the night of the accident. Joe is concerned for Courtney. She is in a lot of pain. Karen asks Joe to go with her to pick out a Christmas tree. Inside, Frank tells Courtney that she's right - they can't let anyone know that he is Neil's father right now. It would hurt too many people. Courtney is sorry she caved in to Chris' blackmail and changed her testimony. Frank and Courtney talk about what a great kid Neil is. They think he only inherited their good traits. They comfort each other on the loss of their daughter. Karen and Joe come back through the kitchen door. Karen's car won't start. Joe asks if she had it checked out after the accident. She says no. He comments that it's strange how Courtney's car had so much damage, but Karen's didn't. Karen looks uneasy. Joe goes back out to try and fix Karen's car. Frank and Courtney come into the kitchen. When Courtney sees Karen there, she says "what the hell are you doing here?" Karen explains that she is there to bring Christmas presents to Neil. Courtney is disturbed by her presence. The two start arguing loudly. Karen is upset because she heard Courtney say that Karen was glad that she lost the baby. Frank tells Karen that she should leave. When Joe comes back, he is concerned when he sees that Courtney is upset. He and Karen leave. Courtney tells Frank that she can't stand Karen. She'll find a way to make Karen really sorry.
At Julie's trial, Victor, Kevin and Dara are talking about Kevin taking the stand. Dara sure could use some help, but she is afraid that Kevin's past will be dug up. They are all disappointed that Matt couldn't find information about Ellen. Rachel tries to hear their discussion. When Kevin is alone, Rachel tries talking with him but he doesn't think it's a good idea. Inside the courtroom, Julie tells Chris that she's nervous about Kevin's testimony. Dara calls Kevin to the stand. He testifies that he first had Julie as a patient in 1997 when he counselled all the interns after the Greg Cooper incident. Julie seemed to be ok. The next time was in November of 1998, a couple of days after John Kanelos' death. Julie had approached him for help because she was having nightmares. It wasn't until later that Julie confessed to the murders. She told Kevin that Greg Cooper had brainwashed her into committing the murders. Kevin testifies that he thinks Greg Cooper *did* use some kind of mind control. Dara asks if he agrees with the defense then. Kevin says no. Julie eventually claimed that she didn't murder anyone. He doesn't believe this. He says it is possible for someone to be brainwashed into believing they murdered someone. He doesn't think this is the case with Julie. She is capable of murder. He also testifies that in his professional relationship with Julie, he has known her to lie. Dara finishes up and Julie's attorney approaches Kevin. He asks Kevin "could you tell the jury why you were committed to the General Hospital psychiatric ward?" He answers that it was for stalking Felicia. Rachel gloats. The lawyer brings up how Kevin kidnapped Felicia at gunpoint. He was obsessed with her. Kevin admits that he was sick then. Victor looks sad. Dara looks frustrated. After more questions, Kevin admits he is not on staff with any medical institution but he says it is his decision to only work part-time. The lawyer concludes that since Kevin made an exception to have Julie as a patient, he must have become upset when Julie decided to have Rachel as her therapist. Had he become obsessed with Julie's case? Otherwise, why would he object to Julie marrying Chris? Dara objects to his statement. It is sustained. Kevin insists he is just concerned about Julie. The lawyer asks why the jury should believe Kevin's testimony, considering his history. Kevin says he is a good psychiatrist. When the day's proceedings are over, Chris and Rachel tell Julie that they think things went well for them. When Chris and Julie are alone, he tells her that he wishes he could kiss her right now. Outside the courtroom, Rachel tells Kevin that she thinks he is arrogant and obsessed with Julie's case. Kevin says that he thinks Rachel has an agenda. He hasn't figured out what it is, but he's afraid she will hurt Julie or that Julie will hurt someone else. He is determined to find out what is going on.
