It's still New Year's Eve in Port Charles. And here's what happened today:
Show starts with Chris and Sheila.....er, I mean, Rachel. Rachel tells Chris that she thought she was the only one working on New Year's Eve. Chris explains that he had to take a shift because he's been spending so much time at the trial. Rachel says that there's a killer party at the coffee shop, and Chris says: "What a way to end the millenium". At that moment, Chris is paged and apparently he's being asked if he's heard from his blushing bride (a.k.a Ms. Serial Killer 1999, Julie). He says he hasn't heard anything and asks to be informed the moment they hear anything. He hangs up and Rachel asks what happened? Chris says that the van taking Julie to Ferncliff never got there. He then calls and asks for someone to cover his shift as he has a personal emergency. Rachel asks him what he thinks might have happened: Was there an accident? Did Julie try to escape?
We then see Scott, Karen and Serena. In a cute scene, he asks his daughters how he looks and Serena makes fun of his hair. He says it always looks funny (got that right!) And they are all excited about him getting married (at least someone is, I sure am not). Serena says there is nothing to worry about.
Cut to where Lucy is (does that lodge have a bridal room?). Aunt Charlene walks in and Lucy tells her that she needs to put some make-up on. Charlene then drops the bomb: "I can't find Christina!". Lucy is shocked.
And now we see Mrs. Ramsey herself holding Christina. She comments on how Christina didn't cry because she remembered Julie (yeah right!). She says she missed Christina and that she doesn't want to let her go. She brings up the idea that they both run away and the theme song plays.
Scott says it's time to get married and as he, Karen and Serena walk out Lucy tells them that Christina is missing. Charlene tells them she left Serena and Christina (hey, that rhymes!!) Alone for a moment. Serena says that a delivery man came to the door and she went to show him where Scott was. When she came back, Christina was gone and she thought Aunt Charlene had taken her. By this time all the wedding guests are gathered around Scott, Lucy and Serena. Charlene says that she saw the playpen open. Scott says that she's still in the building. Charlene says not quite, I saw that the door was open. Lucy is now in hysterics (doesn't take much for her) and says that Christina must've crawled out. Scott calls Kevin and asks him to go outside and look for her. The rest of the guests shuffle around to go look inside. Serena has tears in her eyes (Awww). Courtney and Neil come up and Courtney tells Serena that the three of them step aside and let the adults handle it (what a way for Courtney to get out of looking for Christina!). They walk away. Neil puts his arm around Serena (who is still crying) and tells her not to worry, they'll find Christina.
Back to Julie, who is still talking to Christina. She tells her that now that they are together they will never be apart again (I keep thinking she's going to drop her, as she keeps tipping her over. That doesn't look like a proper way to hold a baby, but, hey, what do I know? I'm a guy!). Julie doesn't know what to do: If she goes back into the street the cops will take her away, and if they go back inside they'll also take Christina away. Oh, what to do?
Cut to Chris's car as he and Sheila (oops, there I go again....Rachel) are driving the same route as the police van always takes to Ferncliff. Rachel is concerned that Chris is driving too fast. Chris asks if she's a good driver as well as an expert witness. Rachel says ok, maybe the prosecution tried to make me look bad (talk about under-statements). Chris says that Rachel looked like a witch doctor with a specialty for springing murderers (ROFL). Rachel says that it's not finished yet. Chris tells her that her testimony made Julie look real bad, and if he was Julie he'd take the first chance to head for the hills (thank god he's not Julie. One is enough). Then, Rachel spots the police van (good, she's useful for something). Chris tries to go into the van when he's stopped by two cops, who say they only found the driver and another cop, not Julie. They say that there was a woman prisoner who went to get help. Rachel and Chris then hear an announcement over the walkie talkie that Christina is missing. One of the cops say that the weapon is missing, and that Julie must've run off with it. Rachel identifies herself and says that Julie isn't a threat to society (Ah, she's on trial for murder, what does that say about her?). The cop says they call this situation "Armed and extremely dangerous".
Meanwhile, Lucy is outside looking for Christina and praying for her to be safe when she sees Julie holding her. Julie seems to be under some sort of heavenly white light as we fade to a commercial.
Back to Lucy and Julie. Julie says that she kept Christina warm. Lucy asks for her back, Julie says not to worry, she would never harm Christina. Lucy says they should go inside, it's very cold. Julie says she's fine, she checked her out. Lucy says that she DID crawl out of her playpen. Lucy says that Christina looks perfect, and Julie says that it's hard to believe anyone in this world could be so sweet and innocent. Lucy is shocked and she tells Julie about her dream where Julie held Christina. Lucy says that this is just like in her dream, but then in her dream Julie gave Christina back to Lucy. Julie gives Lucy the baby back. Lucy hold her and cries as Julie looks on.
Back into the lodge. We see Courtney tell Serena that this is not her fault. Serena says that she shouldn't have left Christina alone. Charlene blames herself for leaving the two of them alone. We then see Victor and Mary talking. Mary says Serena will live with this for a long time, and Victor says especially if something happens. Mary silences him and says that nothing will happen. Vicor feels useless in his crutches, Mary asks him to say a prayer with her.
Kevin walks back in and the report is that Christina has disappeared. Foe (fake Joe) and Karen have not seen her either. They go to check in with Lee and Gail. Quick scene with Kevin and Eve. Eve says she can imagine what's going through Lucy's head right now. Kevin and Eve hug (yuck), and then Scott comes in. He goes to Lee and Gail, who tell him that the baby hasn't been found and that Lucy hasn't come back yet. Just then Lucy comes in with Christina. Lucy assures Scott that everyone is fine, thanks to Julie. Just then, Julie walks in. Lucy gives Christina to Joe to check up on. Everyone is fawning around Christina. Kevin asks Julie what she is doing there. Lucy tells him how they were headed back to Ferncliff and the driver had a heart attack. Julie says that she went to get help and that someone should call GH to tell them what happened. Victor volunteers to do that. Lucy gives Julie her coat. Julie says how she found Christina and she ran into Lucy. Karen takes her to look at the cut on her forehead and gives her something to drink. Julie sees Frank, Courtney and Neil. She greets them and they are quite cold (good, someone in this town still has their senses). Julie tells Neil that she didn't hurt John. Neil looks away (the poor kid seems really terrified). Karen tells her to drink up, Julie thanks her. Julie asks why everyone is there, Karen tells her Scott and Lucy are getting married. Julie congratulates Scott, Scott thanks her for finding Christina. They go to Joe, who says Christina is fine, but Julie should get that cut looked at. Julie says they'll do that at Ferncliff. She then says that the police must be on their way, and Kevin says they called them when they realized the baby was missing. Julie comments on how she'll be locked up again soon (Yay!) and that tomorrow she'll probably wake up thinking it was all a dream. Lucy assures her it wasn't, she saved Christina and she doesn't know how to thank Julie. Lucy then says she feels that she, Christina and Julie are connected and that they will do this again sometime (let's hope not). Just then Chris and Rachel walk in. Husband and wife reunite. Julie says how the accident happened and how she found Christina. Lucy says that Christina was lost but she's now back with her mom and dad where she belongs. Chris and Julie are not too happy at that statement, and we go to a commercial break.
The police are handcuffing Julie and Lucy thanks her again. They go outside and Chris asks for a minute, the cops say make it fast. Chris tells Julie Happy New Year, and she says almost. Julie cries as she reminisces about holding Christina. Chris asks her why she didn't run when she had the chance. Julie says that she realized it wouldn't have worked, she needed both Chris and Christina to survive.
Back inside the lodge, Lucy gives Christina to Charlene and tells her not to take her eyes off her. Charlene assures her that she won't (a hard-learned lesson). She takes her to another room to rest. Scott and Lucy talk, Lucy mentions that this is a heck of a way to start a millenium. She then says that maybe today isn't the day to get married. Lucy starts listing all the reasons why they shouldn't get married, and Scott ends up agreeing (and thank god too). They agree on a raincheck as Lee walks up to them and asks if there will be a wedding tonight. Scott says no, they will just hang out, as Victor finishes the countdown and they all say: "Happy Millenium!!". We then see Lucy and Scott kissing (ack...), followed by Lee and Gail. The next couple we see is Frank and Courtney, who are engaged in a steamy kiss. Next we see Foe and Karen who make a wish that this millenium will be better than the last one and they kiss too. Then we see Mary and Victor. Then Eve and Kevin make a promise to work things out between them. Eve says this will be our millenium and they kiss too (I almost threw up). We then see Rachel, the only one with no one. She says to herself that next year it will be her party, and she walks out. Scott promises Lucy the wedding of her dreams. She says she knows he will keep his promise. They kiss again and the show is O-V-E-R!!!
Updater's note: 1) I was a little surprised that all the characters were on today except Matt. Kinda unfair, don't you think??
2) Sorry this is so long, I wanted to get all the details in.
And that's the end of the first PC update for 2000!!!
