Port Charles Update for Wednesday, 5-Jan-2000

Today's show begins with three doctors talking behind the Nurses Station. Those three doctors are Joe, Karen and -- what's that guy's name again? Oh yeah -- Matt! Take a good look at him, folks -- you won't see him again for the rest of this episode! And most likely the rest of this week, I predict. Anyway, they're talking about Julie. Karen sees something good in Julie. Joe says something, and I'm not exactly sure what, but it sounded like "Mmblmmblmmblshe'sguiltymmbl." And you would THINK that Matt would chime in with something about how Julie tried to electrocute him, but I guess that ATTEMPTED murders aren't crimes in PC cause Julie doesn't seem to be being tried for those. The conversation switches to discussion about Neil. Joe mumbles something incoherent about Neil and leaves. Matt tells Karen that she needs to tell Joe that Frank is Neil's father.

Speaking of Frank, we see him in his apartment, opening a box. Inside the box is a toy stuffed bear -- one that he clearly ordered for the baby before Courtney miscarried. Courtney comes over, sees the bear, and she and Frank hug.

Back in the courtroom -- Julie's trial continues. Greg Cooper is on the stand, recanting his statement. After he's done, he taunts Julie before he leaves.

Frank and Courtney discuss Karen's role in their baby's death, and Courtney insists that Karen is to blame. Then, they make out on the couch.

Next is a Joe and Karen scene, which was rather boring and uneventful -- like this is anything new.

At the courthouse, Chris promises Julie that he'll find a way to get her free. Julie goes out into the lobby and yells at Kevin for butting in. Chris yells at Eve for butting in, too. (Which I LOVED watching, BTW! GO Chris!!!!!) Then Rachel yells at Kevin. I was loving this scene -- everyone was yelling at Kevin and Eve. Definitely the best part of the show!

Frank and Courtney are getting ready to have sex. Now, I'm no medical expert, but it has always been my understanding that anyone who has undergone major surgery needs to wait at least SIX WEEKS before engaging in sexual intercourse. But -- this is the same show that allowed a woman last year to have couch sex with a man who had just had open heart surgery barely two weeks prior. So I guess I shouldn't even blink an eye at this. And at least Frank mentioned protection, cause it wouldn't be safe for Courtney to get pregnant again so soon.

Another Joe and Karen scene. Joe's being a big fat jack@$$. Not that this is anything NEW, but still -- somebody needs to slug this guy. He basically tells Karen, without saying the words, that she's bugging him. So Karen leaves. And Joe throws a fit. What a jerk!

More yelling -- only this time it's CHRIS yelling at RACHEL! Seems he's finally realizing that Rachel isn't all that trustworthy.

Lastly, we have Scott, Kevin and Eve, still at the courthouse. (I have no idea WHY, since Chris and Rachel are already at the hospital. My only guess is that Kevin and Eve popped into the judge's chambers for a quickie, and Scott stood guard outside the door.) Scott's going to go have a talking to with Rachel Locke, he says. Which is probably just fine with Kevin and Eve, cause they're losing enough perfectly good sex time at this trial as it is, and one of them talking to Rachel would just take more time away from that.
