Sorry this is not as detailed as it can be, but I have a headache today :( I'll just stick to the facts. Hope this helps anyways.
Show started with Scott trying to come up with a closing statement for the trial. He told Lucy that he doubts whether Julie is innocent. He's not sure whether he's about to set a guilty woman free or send an innocent woman to jail.
Cut to Courtney and Frank. Courtney tells Frank that the insurance company decided who's to blame for the accident that killed their baby.
Opening theme song plays
Courtney tells Frank that the insurance company decided that neither Courtney nor Karen were responsible for the accident (now here I thought they were going to blame sweet little Karen...What a relief). They then talk about a bunch of emotional stuff, and Courtney says how sad she is about what happened and how she can't blame anyone. They talk about Neil and how grateful he is that she survived the accident. Courtney then says that Neil doesn't know anything, and neither does Frank.
At the courthouse, old Julie is worried about what Scott will say to the jury if he's not sure himself whether or not she's innocent. Rachel comforts Julie that Scott doesn't do anything half way.
Kevin and Eve discuss whether or not Julie will be freed, and they generally blame Scott for trying to set Julie free (how about Kevin and Eve get off their high horse....sorry, had to get that off my chest). Eve says: "Lucy and Scott are both reasonable people. Sorry....Scott is a reasonable person." (I thought that line was extremely rude....ack). Kevin says maybe it's not too late to change Scott's mind about representing Julie.
Outside the courtroom, Lee, Gail and Lucy cheer Scott and tell him he'll do a great job. Lucy and Gail then go inside the courtroom and Scott asks Lee for advice. Lee tells him to just argue the facts, and the jury will be able to use their own common sense.
Scott and Lee proceed into the courtroom and judge Martin comes in (Updater's note: I hope this trial will end soon because I can't stand that judge). Judge calls on Dara to present her closing argument. I won't go into much detail about her closing statement, but Dara basically says that Julie murdered John Kanelos in cold blood. We are then treated to a commercial break, and when the show returns we see Dara continuing to speak. Dara talks about how Greg Cooper brainwashed Julie, bla bla bla, and how Julie signed a confession but that now the prosecution is changing her story. She then continues to blame Rachel for helping Julie come up with the story that she really didn't murder John. Of course Rachel's previous case comes up and then Dara says that Chris and Rachel tried to convince Cooper to say that Julie didn't really kill John. Dara's final conclusion: Julie was her own eyewitness in this murder.
Back to Courtney and Frank. They continue to talk about the accident and how they can't save Neil. Courtney says that it's her fault that the baby died. Courtney says that it's her fault because she was driving too fast to stop Frank from telling Joe he wasn't Neil's father. Courtney says that she tried to believe Karen was responsible so that she won't remember how she went too fast and how she didn't slow down.
Back to the court. Judge Martin calls on Scott. Scott does a pretty good job (I mean, for a guy who knows zip about law, it sounded pretty good to me). He says that the prosecution hasn't come close to proving without a doubt that Julie murdered John. And we are treated to another commercial break.
Scott continues to talk. I won't go into detail about his statement either, but Scott reminds the jury about how Cooper tricked Chris and Rachel about his testimony. He reminds that there are no facts to convict Julie but plenty of room for reasonable doubt. Then Scott begins to relate the story of how Julie saved Christina. Scott's conclusion: Julie's innocent, if she had a chance to run but didn't.
Back to Courtney and Frank. Courtney rejects Frank's help, who is trying to convince her that the accident wasn't her fault, but Courtney says that it WAS her fault because she was speeding. Frank then says that she should blame him because he tried to pull one over on Courtney, by threatening to tell Joe that he wasn't Neil's father. Courtney doesn't want to blame Frank. Frank says they should worry about Neil and how to help him, but first, they must help each other. They then proceed to hug and kiss (a nice scene, I thought).
Back at the courtroom, the judge instructs the jury to start deliberation and than adjourns the court. Julie tells Scott that he was very convincing, and hints that Scott isn't sure that she's innocent, but Scott says that he did his part, let's leave it at that. Rachel and Chris thank Scott too for being so great. Scott walks out, where he is greeted by Lucy, who tells him that he did his best and was very believable. Kevin and Eve walk up and of course they have to comment (boy, I wanted to punch them both...sorry, had to get that off my chest too). Scott says that he did what any lawyer was supposed to do. Kevin asks what happens if she's set free and cracks up again. Kevin and Eve walk away (Thank god!), angry.
Julie can't believe that Scott found the strength to say that she was innocent. Rachel says that Julie's testimony turned the trial around. Julie says that she found the strength to testify because of her dream to be with Christina. Rachel and Chris assure Julie that she will be with Christina very soon, and the show ends.
Updater's Note: 1) Matt was actually seen today, albeit he was sitting in the back of the courtroom and didn't have a single line to deliver. For all you Matt fans, this may not be much, but it IS better than nothing.
2) This could've been longer than it is, but I do have a headache and I didn't want to bore you all. Anyways, my next update is next Wednesday, see you then!!
