Port Charles Update for Friday, 28-Jan-2000

It's Adoption Day! Lucy is up early with Christina because she can't sleep. Scott joins her and shows her the cigars he has bought for the occasion. Lucy feels more secure about Christina now. She thinks that nobody can come and take their baby away from them after today. Later, Aunt Charlene is baking three cakes for the party, Lucy is frantic over which outfit Christina should wear and Scott and Serena are anxious to get out to the adoption proceedings. Even later, in the judge's office, Scott videotapes messages for Christina from Gail, Lee and a weepy Lucy. Serena takes pictures of the group. When Serena reads a poem she wrote about Christina becoming her sister, everyone is touched.

At Ferncliff, Julie tells Chris that she is upset with Kevin because he has delayed her exit interview. She worries that she will be unable to tell that she is Christina's mother before the adoption takes place. She thinks that maybe she should tell now. Chris tells her that Scott and Lucy will keep her from her baby so that the adoption will go through. Chris tells her to have faith. Julie thinks Rachel will help her. Chris doesn't think so. Rachel comes in and tells them that she'll get Julie out of there today and Kevin can't do a thing to stop them. Rachel tells them how she ran into an interviewer a little while ago. She buttered him up and thinks he is ready to release Julie. He is just down the hall. Rachel leaves with an elated Julie to go and see him. When Julie returns to Chris, she announces she is free and runs into his arms. Rachel wants to take her shopping or out to eat. She offers to treat, but Julie and Chris want time to be alone together. Julie thanks Rachel for everything and says she'll see her next week at her appointment. When Rachel leaves, Julie asks Chris if they still have time. She says nobody, not even Kevin, can keep her from getting her little girl back.

While Kevin is having breakfast, he tells Eve that he is not going anywhere near Julie today. Eve wants to take a vacation. She has already found a cabin in the woods. She starts kissing Kevin, trying to convince him to take a break from Port Charles. Kevin thinks she has a hidden reason for wanting to leave town. She says no. He thinks it's because Julie will be back in town. Eve relents and admits she is scared. She reminds Kevin that he and Victor were original targets of the killer. Eve tries to seduce Kevin again. He says he is tempted but must remain in town because Neil needs him. Eve blames Scott for Julie's being free soon. Kevin says that they can't be 100% sure that Julie is guilty. Eve says that she knows Julie is dangerous. She tells Kevin that Julie could be especially dangerous to him because he tried to block her release. Kevin tries to joke about the situation but Eve gets mad that he won't take his safety seriously. Kevin says he won't live his life in fear.

At GH, Rachel uses her cell phone to check her messages. There is one from the woman who calls her Livvy. The woman complains that she always gets the machine and doesn't get to talk to Livvy. She tells how a woman called looking for Livvy. She thinks the call didn't sound right. She tells the phone number where the caller can be found. She also says that the caller said she was a friend of Livvy's.

Eve and Kevin decide to stay home and have a romantic weekend. Eve leaves the room. When her cell phone rings, she tells Kevin that he can answer it. He says "hello, hello" but there is no answer. We see that it is Rachel calling. She hangs up. When Eve returns, they discuss that she has been getting a lot of hang-ups ever since she called the number on Rachel's answering machine. Kevin thinks that maybe she is worrying about the wrong person. He suggests she change her number. Rachel says "of course, Kevin and Eve, who else?"

Julie and Chris come charging into the judge's office. The Baldwins are all still there. Scott says "what are you guys doing here?"
