Frank and Kevin (together – not a bad way to start a PC episode at all) stand outside Neil’s room watching him not talk to Courtney. Kevin plans to talk to Neil again tomorrow, but Frank asks that he talk to him now – for Neil and for Courtney’s sake. Kevin agrees to do so. Rachel – hanging out an the Nurses’ station where you almost never see a nurse – calls for her messages and gets one from her mother (or so the voice says) asking “Livvie” why she hasn’t inquired about the woman who called her. Rachel glares not very subtly at Eve. Chris and Julie decide they weren’t leaving after all, and invite Lucy to sit at their table. Julie says there is nowhere else she would rather be, as she hungrily eyes Christina.
Frank takes Courtney back to the chapel who again claims not to be a prayer kind of gal (who would of thunk it?) Frank thinks Courtney needs peace and quiet. They are a match set muses Frank, scary. No replies Courtney, nice. They agree to try the prayer thing together, Frank crosses himself and they kneel for Neil (I know it’s beyond corny but I couldn’t resist.)
Kevin tells Neil that Victor brought him crossword puzzles too, only Victor worked them all before Kevin had a chance to. When Neil indicates things aren’t good between him and his mom, Kevin says that it’s too bad. Neil believes that if he has to be perfect and not lie, than his parents should do the same (good point.) Kevin admits that he used to get pretty mad at Victor (oh by the way he asks – four letter word for football kick. Neil responds, correctly I guess, punt.) Kevin goes on to say that he once quit talking to Victor for years and thought they would never be close again. Is that why you call him Victor instead of dad, astutely asks Neil? Yup says Kevin (blow and bluster – storm replies Neil again correctly – I thought it was Joe – just kidding!) Kevin praises Neil’s word skills. (And isn’t it great to see Kevy using his doctor skills? I’d go lie on his couch anytime.) Neil thinks that parents shouldn’t mess things up so bad. We all do Kevin replies. Neil could forgive mistakes, but not lies. Kevin thinks that Courtney’s lies were mistakes – she loves Neil and simply wanted to protect him (and oh – staying in Joe’s life was just a nice side effect.) Courtney loves you like Victor loves me says my Doc. He asks Neil not to make the same mistake he did and has one more word to solve – 7 letter word for absolve. Neil doesn’t know it so Kevin supplies it – forgive (although I guess it would be nice if Kevy was a tad quicker at applying that word to his own life).
Lucy talks to Don on the phone about perfume (gee I wonder what ever happened to those exciting magic dresses?) Julie would be enjoying her first day of freedom more if everyone would just get over her past. Lucy knows how it feels – once upon a time, in another show far away, she waltzed into town, spoke a few words at a trial and then was treated un-nicely by the citizens of Port Charles (she kind of skimmed over the perjury to let a killer go free part.) Lucy advises Julie that it just takes time. Julie offers to hold Christina while Lucy gets organized. Lucy agrees, after all Julie did practically save Christina’s life and all that jazz. Julie holds Christina while Lucy does her best to hide her worry and Chris looks a bit edgy too.
Eve discovers that if you buy $200 worth of fine lingerie, the chocolate comes free (maybe I’d go for that if it was the other way around.) Rachel has a story she wishes to tell Eve – it’s all about how she once had a patient who had a daughter who was named – get this – Livvie and then the patient started calling Rachel Livvie and still does to this day AND this patient just happened to call and leave a message to Livvie on Rachel’s answering machine. Whew! And in case that little tale doesn’t fly, Rachel has a sweet little message for Kevin. Either he backs off or Rachel will tell the police he’s a stalker once more (I don’t think they’d buy it – Rachel looks nothing like Felicia. Well maybe if she wore a blonde wig...)
Neil tells Kevin that Joe didn’t know he wasn’t his dad. Kevin points out that Neil talked to Joe and talked to him and feels better. Frank and Courtney watch from the peeking window. Kevin has to go. Neil asks him to ask Courtney to see him (Neil – not Kevin.) Kevin passes the news on to a delighted Courtney. Chris wonders how Lucy juggles business and family and Julie wonders if she has a regular sitter. Lucy has Aunt Charlene and Serena is in school, but she has discovered that Christina is way too inquisitive to take into business meetings anymore (like Lucy ever goes to any – besides since Scott only has one case every two years or so he can watch her.) Lucy’s girls are her highest priority. Lucy tells the duo that Christina and Serena were tested as bone marrow donors. Julie thinks the procedure would be painful, but Lucy can’t stop thinking about a little boy dying. Don calls again and as Lucy excuses herself to take the call, Chris warns Julie to ease up. Julie wants to be the one making decisions about Christina – not Lucy. Chris wants Julie to play low key but Julie can’t take much more of this.
Neil asks Courtney for some books. (In case I am really confused the words Port Charles appears on my TV set, and in case I am really really confused about what I am watching it is followed by ABC. Phew, glad that was cleared up.) Courtney, playing it pretty darn low key herself, agrees. Then Neil wonders if Courtney would read to him later, play out the characters like she always does. Again Courtney agrees. In the hallway, she and Frank hug out of joy and relief. Kevin offers Eve Chinese food and Eve responds with the Rachel/Livvie tale which Kevin so eloquently decrees is “full of it” and then admits some people would listen to tales about him re-stalking. Kevin believes Rachel is hiding something (Oh no – really?) Chris is ready to go and Julie reluctantly gives up Christina. Lucy, in her own way, tells Julie that people will come around. She now has everything she ever wanted (except Kevin – sorry couldn’t resist that either) and so will Julie. Rachel comes in and comments about how cozy the gang is. Rachel, Chris and Julie adjourn to a nearby table. Julie wants a way to see Christina everyday.
And that’s all he/she/they wrote. Ta!
