Port Charles Update for Friday, 4-Feb-2000

At the lighthouse, Eve finds a pink box with a pink bow. She picks it up and shakes it. Kevin enters and is amused. Eve tries to guess what is inside. He finally tells her to open it. It's a dress for a baby. Kevin explains that he bought it for Christina to celebrate her adoption. They leave to go to the firehouse.

At Chris', Julie goes into the bedroom and curls up on the bed, stroking the cover. She calls the hospital and asks if Chris is out of surgery yet. She takes a photo of Christina out of her pocket and runs her finger over her baby's face. Then she jumps up and leaves the room.

At the firehouse, Lucy is upset that a business deal didn't work out. She feels that she wasted her time staying home when she could have been at a mother-baby activity instead of Aunt Charlene. Scott wants to look at the bright side. He reminds her of what they used to do when they had a couple of free hours alone. The kissing doesn't last long. They reminisce about how they used to sleep late on Sundays, how they used to have time alone. Then they talk about how much they love it when Serena jumps in their bed in the morning. Lucy loves to see Christina's big eyes every morning. She marvels at how Serena thought of having herself and Christina tested for bone marrow donors. They talk on and on about the kids until they realize that they are alone for a change, and all they can talk about is the girls. As the two of them start to get passionate, we see Julie as well as Kevin and Eve arrive outside the firehouse door. When Eve asks Julie what she is doing there, Julie says that Scott is her attorney. Eve answers sarcastically that she should make an appointment to see him at his office. Julie says that Scott and Lucy wouldn't mind her showing up unexpectedly because she rescued Christina from the cold. She wants to know why Kevin is there. Is he stalking her? They argue so loudly that Scott and Lucy can hear them. They come out to see what is going on. Julie tells Scott that she needs him, but Scott says the trial is over. Julie says it's about her father's estate. Scott tells Julie that he doesn't like civil law and that she shouldn't just drop by. He insinuates that Kevin and Eve should follow that advice also. Kevin apologizes, explaining that he has a gift for Christina. Kevin and Eve go inside. Scott tells Julie goodbye, but Lucy stays outside to talk to Julie. Julie says she took a chance and dropped by unannounced because she had such a good time being with Lucy and the baby. Lucy tells her to call first next time. Lucy goes inside where Kevin and Eve try to warn her and Scott about Julie being dangerous. Lucy thinks Eve is exaggerating. Kevin and Eve say that Julie was acting weird outside. After Kevin and Eve leave, Scott is disappointed that Lucy isn't "in the mood" now. Scott doesn't like the fact that Julie showed up. Lucy thinks she just needs a friend.

Neil is growing tired of Courtney reading to him. When she suggests that Frank come in, Neil becomes upset and turns away from her. Courtney notices a big bruise on Neil's arm. Neil doesn't know how he got it. Courtney leaves to get Joe. Later, Courtney is outside Neil's room, explaining to Frank that Neil must have hit his elbow and moments later he had a big bruise. In Neil's room, he tells Joe that it hurts when Joe touches his chest. Karen brings Joe outside to talk with him. The results of Neil's tests are not good. He is anemic after one day on new medication. Joe is frustrated. Karen assures him that she has already made the necessary appointments for Neil to be tested. Later, in a different part of GH, Joe and Karen are explaining Neil's condition to Courtney and Frank. Alan is also there discussing Neil. The new program he is on is causing severe anemia. Courtney lashes out at Karen, asking her what she was thinking when she got Neil on the program. Courtney tells Alan that she wants her son off the program. Alan doesn't agree with her decision and encourages Courtney to keep Neil on the new medication. Courtney turns to Joe for advice. Joe agrees with Alan. Courtney asks how much time Neil has left. Joe is optimistic that Neil will beat his disease. Karen promises to work day and night in the lab to find a bone marrow donor. Later, Neil sleeps as his mother watches him. Frank puts one arm around Courtney and puts his other hand on top of Courtney's and Neil's.

Kevin and Eve return to the lighthouse where Kevin finds a photo of him smashed. He tells Eve that it must have been blown over by the wind. Eve worries that someone may have broken in. Kevin says he left the window open and it was the wind. When he goes to close the window, he looks around outside.

Back at Chris', Julie is looking out the window. Then she looks at her picture of Christina.

In the lab, Joe tells Karen and Matt that he is confident that Neil will overcome this setback. When Joe leaves, Karen confides that she is worried about him. They agree that they need a miracle. The camera zooms in on the tube with Christina Baldwin written on it.
