Port Charles Update for Friday, 11-Feb-2000

Julie tells Chris how concerned she is about Christina going through the procedure. Chris thinks people will be suspicious if Julie is there. He encourages her to go and make reservations for a romantic evening. She says she's not leaving.

Eve wakes up on Valentine's Day and finds Kevin missing and a note on his pillow. It says that he knew he loved her when they stayed at the Port Charles Hotel and she ordered coffee and chocolate mousse for breakfast. Kevin walks in carrying........(yup, you guessed it) coffee and chocolate mousse. Eve tries to entice him into staying home but Kevin has to go to GH. Eve begs Kevin to give her a hint about her surprise. At the nurses' station, Eve finds a CD of 80's songs for her. Kevin tells her that he knew he loved her when she showed him a picture of herself in the 80's. Eve checks Neil's schedule for Kevin. Nothing planned for today. However, Christina has her procedure scheduled for today. Julie lurks and listens nearby. Eve and Kevin are amazed that Christina was such a close match for Neil. Kevin thinks it is not a coincidence. Julie looks worried.

Scott comes into Christina's hospital room and finds Lucy still asleep. He wakes her and gives her a music box that he made for her. He also gives her Serena's handmade card for her. He also brought a gift for Serena - a shirt that says "I'm Mommy's Little Valentine" on it. He admits it's "hokey" but Lucy says she likes "hokey." Chris encourages Scott and Lucy to take a walk. He promises to call them when it's time for Christina to get a sedative. Out in the corridor, Scott gives Lucy a box of candy hearts. All the hearts have "Lucy" on them. He tells her "you know what else has your name on it?" Pointing to his heart he says "this heart." (awwwww) Later, with Scott and Lucy gone, Chris tells Julie that she can go in to see Christina as soon as the nurse leaves the room. Inside, Julie is thrilled to hold her baby who gives the cutest smile. In the cafeteria, Scott and Lucy are having coffee, but Lucy wants to go back and see Christina. Scott tries to get her to relax. She discovers that she has Christina's pacifier. They both decide to go back to Christina. Julie is alone in Christina's room, relishing every moment with her baby. Outside, Scott and Lucy come back, but Chris gets there in time to try to detain them. He says that Christina is resting but Lucy says she hears her inside. She and Scott enter the room just in time to hear Julie say to Christina "You miss your mommy, don't you, sweetie?"

Outside Neil's room, Joe tells Courtney and Frank that Neil is stable. Now would be a good time to do the procedure. Courtney and Frank have made their decision. They are going to wait to do Neil's transplant. Joe strongly opposes their decision and tries to convince them to change their minds. Karen comes up behind Joe and wants to know what's going on. When Courtney and Frank explain about the difference of opinion they are having with Joe, Karen is amazed. Joe hasn't told them? He has been taken off Neil's case. Karen explains that Alan decided that Joe was too emotionally involved to treat Neil. Courtney says she has always trusted Joe's opinions. Joe asks them why they won't go along with his opinion now. Karen reminds him that Courtney and Frank are responsible for Neil. Joe calls Frank a coward. He says Frank was afraid to tell Neil the truth, afraid to tell Joe the truth and now he's afraid to go ahead and agree to the transplant now before it's too late. After Kevin visits Neil, he and Courtney discuss Neil's improvement. Kevin says that a positive attitude from all who see him will benefit Neil. Frank comes back, carrying a bouquet of flowers. Courtney assumes that someone sent them to Neil, but Frank says they are for her from him. They exchange "I love you's" and they hug. Later, Joe visits Neil. They talk about baseball. Neil says he knows that Joe will make him better, just like he always does, even if he isn't his father. Joe goes outside Neil's room and calls the hematology lab. He says he is one of Neil's doctors and wants to know when Christina Baldwin's procedure is finished.

At the nurses' station, Eve finds another love note with a trinket from Kevin. Karen looks depressed. Eve asks if Joe forgot to send her a Valentine's Day gift. Karen explains they are way past that, but Eve thinks he will eventually forget that Karen kept secrets from him. Karen tells Eve that she and Joe are now arguing over how to treat Neil's leukemia. When she became Chief Resident, she and Joe agreed that it would never come between them. Any professional disagreements would not be taken personally. Eve is saddened when she finds out that Joe is off of Neil's case. She realizes that Joe must be taking that personally. Karen is worried that Joe may do something to hurt his reputation.

Kevin is alone in the hospital. He finds a shrunken head in his coat pocket. He flashes back to the Halloween party when he and Eve talked about shrunken heads being a symbol for shrinks and how he might be the next victim of the killer. He looks very worried.
