Port Charles Update for Wednesday, 23-Feb-2000

Scott is worried that he will only get sewer rats – his words – as clients now that he helped free Julie. The highlight of the day for me – Victor! – is talking to Kevin about Joe’s possibly misguided attempt to save Neil’s life. Eve yells at Kevin for daring to make a move without her consent. Rachel visits a Chris-less Julie. Julie has decided that in order to get Christina back she must get her job back (remind to get Luke’s tattoo imprinted on my forehead.)

Victor notes Eve’s mood and leaves (and that’s the last we see of him this episode – another black mark against Eve – Just Kidding – really!) Anyway since Kevin can’t make a move without his tag-along they leave together. Kevin jokes about Eve saving him from bullets. Scott once had a bad reputation (wow that’s a newsflash) but now he wants to be strictly up and up (read boring.) Lucy suggests he put his past behind him and make the world what he wants it.

Rachel is just about to wrap Alan around her busy little finger, so if Julie waits on her hot potato of an idea she’ll help smooth things over. She warns Julie there may be a legal battle. They both agree Scott is their man. Rachel just loves a challenge.

Eve and Kevin are now at the Lighthouse. Kevin is ready to lose his bodyguard and get his girlfriend back (hey that’s just what I want too – lose that bodyguard Kevy baby!). Oh gee here is something new and exciting (the soap gods HATE me) they make out. Serena is all excited about getting an A on her report card. Scott claims psychicness but Serena knows that’s her “Mom’s” terrain. Serena has written about the original do-the-right-thing guy Abraham Lincoln. Scott wants to be more Lincoln-y. He no longer wants to take cases he doesn’t believe is right. He wants all his girls to be proud of his newly bland self. Since no couple in Port Charles can move without the other one assisting them, Scott and Lucy head out to the Port Charles Grill together to pick out christening cakes (Lucy does mention Jacks – like she really has a job.)

Poor Rachel – if it wasn’t for Lucy she’d have Scott, but she does assure Julie she and Scott are best buds. Rachel calls Scott and discovers he is at the Grill so there they go too. Kevin dances with Eve at the Grill as all normal people stare. Scott and Lucy appear followed closely by Rachel and Julie. They make their pitch for Scott to be Julie’s lawyer, he’s not happy about the idea but when Lucy says everyone deserves legal representation, he says he will think about it. After Julie and Rachel head out to the bar, Eve and Kevin tell Lucy and Scott Kevin’s dire tale of threats and shrunken heads. Eve blames Julie, Kevin says it is possible, Lucy doesn’t seem to think it’s likely, but Scott has heard enough. He goes to the bar and turns Julie down; they follow him with their eyes back to his table where Kevin stands with Eve. They glare daggers at Kevin and the show is over.
