Mac (and it’s very good to see him on our side of the town again) and Chris argue about the innocence of Julie. Chris wants to nominate Rachel for Kevy-stabber but Mac wants some proof before he even considers the possibility. Dara – also straying into our part of town – pays a visit to Julie. She has a proposition for Julie. And then the credits roll – hi Kevin! – and we see Chris letting himself into Rachel’s apartment and soon he finds what he’s looking for and –

Rachel who is home again and not as thrilled to find Chris there as I would be. Chris freely admits he is looking for proof she stabbed Kevin. Julie informs Dara that she has no intention of confessing to a crime she didn’t commit (but wouldn’t that kind of even things out – since there were lots of crimes she committed but wasn’t charged for?). Dara coolly informs Julie that she will not lose this time (who knows – she could win – there is a first time for everything ) but Julie will take her chances (and with PC’s finest – those chances are pretty darn good.)

Chris wants to hear a little story – no, darn it all not a bedtime one but the story of how Rachel ended up stabbing Kevin. Rachel points out she was with Chris. But Chris thinks Rachel had plenty of time to do the dirty deed. Motive, asks Rachel? Oh – says Chris – how about Kevy digging into your past and you not liking it? He shows Rachel his evidence – a letter Rachel wrote Alan denouncing the good doctor Collins. Rachel warns Chris he could be alienating the only friend Julie has. Chris would love to know what Rachel is hiding (and wouldn’t we all – cause this mysterious stuff has worn thinner than Eve’s self control – oops sorry that just slipped out).

Victor and Mary discuss with Joe the fact that Kevin is not waking up and they also discuss the nurses’ strike. Joe (I think it was – I was listening to this episode from a friend's television radio thingy at work – of course I was working very hard during commercials ) says that what’s good for the nurses (the strike) might be bad for the patients.

A LPN can’t do the procedure Eve wants for Kevin so she blows up at the nurse, and then apologizes. Mac asks if Kevy is up for visitors – absolutely says Eve (as long as your name isn’t Lucy). Chris appears – he has something to show Mac. Eve is delighted Chris is stabbing his wife in the back, until Chris tells her that it’s Rachel he’s fingering. Eve is not doing this dance with Chris again. Chris shows Mac the I-hate-Kevy-letter. Mac astutely points out that one letter doesn’t add up to attempted murder (see that’s why he’s the big guy). He tells Chris that no one wants to believe that the person they love is capable of something terrible (gee – that couldn’t be a reference to Felicia the family deserter could it?) Chris is very sure that Julie is innocent.

Eve whispers to Kevin that she needs him – and Kevy wakes up. Kevin knows his name, where he is, and that he was stabbed so that is apparently proof positive that his brain is undamaged. Kevin asks if they caught him – him meaning Cooper explains he. Chris is relieved that Julie indeed didn’t do it (unless – she dressed like Cooper dressing like Julie – j/k) Kevin remembers Cooper telling him this was the last chapter of General Homicide (everyone shout hallelujah) and that Cooper wore a Julie wig. He then informs Mac that – big moment here everyone hold your breath – Cooper committed ALL of the murders (and all of the planting of evidence – and all of the almost murders – because Cooper went to the Houdini School for Psychopaths.) Mac thinks maybe Cooper could have lied – and gee Cooper’s been such a truth teller so far – but Kevin says Cooper had nothing to lose, he thought Kevin was going to die (you would think someone who went to medical school could do a more thorough job of killing someone.) Mac is going to check Cooper out but Chris has a better idea – free Julie now. Mac warns Kevin not to worry them again.

Victor and Mary are overjoyed to hear that Kevin is awake. Karen stays to spend time with Joe. Karen tells Joe she will have to speak at his review – whether or not he wants her there. She is going to say that Joe is a brilliant doctor but should not have treated Neil without his parent’s permission. Joe is truly offended – Neil lived (and of course the ends always justifies the means). Joe huffily states that the system is wrong if they don’t crown him a hero and that he is not kissing up to any administrator to get his job back. (Humpty Joe sat on a wall – Humpty Joey had a great fall – I hope!)

Eve babbles a bit about how everyone came to talk to Kevin – leaving out Lucy’s name of course – and how horrible this was for her. Victor and Kevin have a very nice reunion! Victor tells Kevin he loves him as he is being shown the door by the nurse and Kevin replies – and this was great – I love you too DAD! Julie is overjoyed to be released – and heaps praise on her husband but he uncharacteristically deflects the praise to Kevin. He tells her Greg confessed to all the murders.

Eve – in a very typical (read into that what you will) move gets into bed with Kevin. She is very happy to hear that Kevin doesn’t remember hearing anything (gee not worried that Lucy had any affect are we Eve?). She then describes how brilliant she was and on and on (cause certainly someone who almost died doesn’t need peace and quiet.)

Julie and Chris celebrate their good fortune – now everyone will know Julie is not a murderer (just a waller upper).

THE END
