Port Charles Update for Tuesday, 14-Mar-2000

In Scott and Lucy's kitchen, they each are on their individual phones while Serena and Christina eat their breakfasts. Lucy is excited about Donatella Stewart being in town. Lee arrives. He says he needs Scott's help. He wants Scott on the negotiating team before the strike gets too long. So far, the patients' needs have not been compromised. Lee thinks someone with Scott's abilities should be on the team.

Eve brings Kevin's breakfast to him. She becomes upset when he tells her that his bandages haven't been changed. Chris comes in. Eve tells him that his patient, Camille Owens, is missing. When Chris is alone with Kevin, he tells him that he owes Julie an apology for insisting that she was crazy. Kevin says that he never said Julie was the killer. He still thinks Julie needs help. Chris leaves to find his patient.

Chaos reigns at GH. Doctors are fed up having to do the nurses' usual responsibilities. The husband of Camille Owens is frantic. He can't find his wife. Amanda Barrington's granddaughter, Alison, complains to Alan about the things she's been expected to do as a volunteer. She reminds Alan that she is Emily's friend. Alan reminds her that her work is voluntary and she doesn't have to do it. She says she does if she wants a BMW. Alison meets Chris and seems to be on the verge of flirting with him when he is taken away by orderlies and a patient who need him. Julie finds Chris. She is happy that Alan let her back to work at GH. Rachel overhears and interrupts like she always does. She tells Julie that she's glad that Alan was receptive to *her* idea of giving Julie a chance. Once again, Julie seems grateful and indebted to Dr. Locke. Chris doesn't look like he buys this as Rachel goes on about how important it is that Julie has her career back. Chris gets called away. Julie tells Rachel that she is close to having everything she wants - her job, her husband. All she needs is Christina. Julie attempts to speak with Alan but he has to rush away. Later, Julie finally gets a moment with Alan. He tells her to answer the phones. She says she's a doctor, not a receptionist. He reminds her that she hasn't been reinstated, but this would be a good way to start back at GH. Alison comes along and Julie asks her to do some things, but Alison says she's bringing grapefruit juice to a cute guy. Julie reads the patient's chart and tells Alison that he can't have grapefruit juice with his conditioin. Julie explains that she is a doctor. Alison doesn't believe her. Julie tells Alison that if she touches a patient while Julie is there, she'll knock her on her spoiled ass. Julie watches as Lucy and Scott get off the elevator with Serena and Christina. Scott goes to find Lee. Serena gives uneasy looks toward Julie. When Lucy asks her what's wrong, Serena says that Julie hurt Kevin. Lucy explains that they were wrong about Julie. Julie comes over to them and says she's volunteering. If Lucy want to volunteer, she'd be glad to babysit. When Lucy and the girls leave, Chris sees Julie looking sad. He tells her she'll be with Christina soon. Mr. Owens finds Chris and demands that his wife be found.

While the nurses congregate at the Recovery Room, Frank comes in. He tells Joe that he has crossed the picket line. He did it to help Neil. Joe asks him what he's going to do about telling their mother. Frank says he's going to tell her the truth. Frank reminds Joe that he could be helping out at GH if he wasn't so cocky. Joe says his confidence saved Neil's life. Mary tells Frank how much she misses Neil. Joe comes over and asks Frank if he told Mary yet. He then proceeds to tell Mary that Frank is a scab. Frank explains to Mary that he is doing it to help Neil. He doesn't want to hurt her. He has to do this. He has a family now. Mary says she's proud that he took a stand.

When Lucy and the girls come to visit Kevin, he is kissing Eve. They joke about the "care" he's receiving. Eve leaves. Kevin and Serena are just adorable together as she climbs up to give him a hug. Serena reasons that since Julie did not hurt Kevin, it was ok for Scott to defend her. Lucy strolls down the corridor to Donatella Stewart's room. Before she enters, Alan stops her and asks her what she is doing. Lucy answers that she is doing volunteer work and heard a woman call for help. Alan can see right through her. He keeps egging her on and she keeps making up stories. He asks her if she brought a merger agreement or just a business card. Lucy pretends that she is surprised to find out that Donatella Stewart is there.

Chris is relieved when he sees Julie with Camille Owens and her husband. Julie gives the reunited couple some instructions about stitches. Chris says "good save.........doctor." Julie smiles.

Scott, Lee and Alan are in a conference room discussing the strike when Rachel comes in. She says she is glad to see Scott join the team. They watch the coverage of the picket line on tv. The camera takes us outside where we see Frank cross the picket line. Someone asks Mary about it. They know he has a son hospitalized but they heard he was working at GH. Mary doesn't answer. She watches Frank try to enter the hospital as people throw things at him.
