Kevin comes into Neil's room. Neil gives him the cold shoulder. He asks Kevin why he told everyone that Joe isn't his father. He tells Kevin that Dr. Locke told him. Kevin isn't surprised. Neil says Dr. Locke felt bad about it. Kevin replies "oh, I bet she did."

Rachel asks Julie and Chris if it has sunk in yet that Cooper is dead. Chris says he can't get it off his mind. Rachel says that maybe it's because he's dealing with walking away from a dying patient. Chris maintains that he had to because he couldn't be objective. Karen teases Joe about how geriatric patients are all requesting that he sing lullabies to them. As they go to get on the elevator, Eve gets off. She is sounding off about someone slashing her tires. She sees Julie and asks the other doctors if anyone saw Julie around her car with a machete. Julie counterattacks, saying that since Eve killed Cooper, maybe his ghost did it. Eve says that at least she didn't walk out and let him die. Karen demands that they all stop. Joe suggests that the nurses may be involved somehow. Alan wants to treat the tire slashing as an isolated incident. Karen gives Matt a patient assignment but he says he can't because he has too much to do already. Both Joe and Julie would love to help, but Karen reminds them they haven't been reinstated. Alan commends Eve on the job she did, trying to save Cooper. Chris is livid. Someone spray-painted his car with "scab." Alan thinks the vandalism may be organized. He tells Karen to ask the staff to remain in the hospital, even to sleep. He tells Karen that some have asked about Eve treating Cooper. Karen defends Eve, saying she did nothing wrong. Besides, many on staff had bad feelings toward Cooper.

In Kevin's room, he tries to reassure Eve that she did everything she could to save Cooper. Later, out in the hall, Kevin tells Rachel that what she did with Neil was unethical. She says that Neil was crying and she went into his room to help him. She thinks that what Neil told Kevin was just a child's version of what happened. Near the end of the show, Eve tries to get Kevin to take his medication. He thinks she just wants him to sleep and stay away from patients. Kevin wants Eve to sleep with him. Instead, they do some smooching.

In the on-call lounge, Eve and Chris continue fighting over the ethics of treating and not treating Cooper. Matt comes in and tells them to quiet down. They can be heard out in the hall. Unfortunately, the two doctors get even louder and more heated. Eve lunges toward Chris. Joe jumps between them. Later, the bickering continues between Eve and Chris. Matt asks Joe if he regrets doing what he did. Joe says he had to do something because Neil was dying. Julie comes in looking for someone to assist a C-section. They all pretend that they didn't hear, except for Matt, who volunteers. Karen comes in and talks about why they all became doctors - to make a difference. They all give serious thought to what she says. Joe talks about working in the inner-city if he can't come back to work at GH. Several of the residents tease Chris about wanting to be a plastic surgeon. He defends himself. They all get playful and wind up throwing pillows. Karen goes off to sleep. Joe says he can't sleep in the same room with Chris because he snores. When Joe leaves, Julie, Chris and Matt bet on whether Joe will be sleeping with Karen.

Rachel tells Alan that she is worried about the negative publicity that GH may receive if he reinstates Kevin at this time. Boardman comes along, griping about jobs he shouldn't have to do. Alan calls him a primadonna. After Alan walks away, Rachel tells Boardman that he has been doing a lot of good at GH. She has heard that he has been amazing during the contract talks. She gives him a little sly smile and he responds with a proud, slightly cocky smile. Later, when Boardman discovers that Rachel's office is as big as his, we can see how jealous he is becoming. Rachel plays on that emotion and tells him that Alan doesn't treat him right. Boardman thinks that Alan is afraid of powerful, intelligent women. Rachel says he's married to one. Boardman thinks Monica runs the show. Rachel massages Boardman's temples while he goes on about Alan probably buying the Chief of Staff position. He thinks the job should be his. Rachel pumps him up by telling him that if he were Chief of Staff, GH would be the top hospital in the country. She massages his neck and then his shoulders. Boardman looks like he is in ecstasy. Rachel bends over and talks into his ear. He turns to face her, talking about a spark from the Ice Maiden. She wants to know if that's what she is called. Boardman says people don't know her. She gives him a quick kiss. He pulls her to him and they kiss passionately. She mounts him on the desk. He pulls her dress up over her hips.

Sure enough, Joe enters Karen's room and asks if he can sleep there. He says he'll sleep on the floor. She says there is only one blanket. She gives him her sweatshirt to use as a pillow. He lies down and smells her sweatshirt. Joe gets restless on the floor. Karen invites him into her cot so he can get some rest - yeah right! At first, Joe lies down with his back to Karen. Later, he rolls over to face her. He leans over and kisses her. Her first reaction is surprise and she backs off. Then they give in to their passion and start to undress each other. The last shot we see of this scene is of Karen's bra being thrown on the floor.

Eve goes to the on-call room to get some sleep. She lies down on the couch, but has trouble relaxing because of Chris' snoring. The power goes out. Chris wakes up when some kind of alarm goes off. They say it's the generators.
