Port Charles Update for Thursday, 13-Apr-2000

Contract Players: Karen, Eve, Frank, Scott, Lucy, Rachel, Joe

Recurring, Garcia, Emilio, Jill.

Act I

Eve calls Karen during the rain storm to let her know they are shorthanded, and asks for more coverage. Karen pops a pills and informs Eve that she be right there. Eve objects and tells her to delegate people. Karen insists on coming, and Eve tells her be careful when driving(if she only knew about the drugs). Karen pops another one from her purse. Next we switch to our favorite EMT, Frank attending to a patient. The man asks for a shot and where are the idiots that ran him off the road. Frank says they are right behind you. (We see Scott and Lucy)

Opening Credits

Act II

Frank reports the patient to GH, where Eve talks to him while in the ER. Eve authorized some pain medicine for the patient to Frank and tells the Reg that even though the patient has no coverage let him come in. Karen comes in, looking a wreck which Eve comments about. Eve asks about Joe but Karen doesn't want to talk about him. Karen isn't too thrilled when she sees Joe come in. Frank and Emilo comes in wheeling the patient and Joe attends to him right away. Frank makes a comment that the patient was calling for his mama(LOL), but the guy says leave his mama out of it. Eve welcomes Joe back and the patient wants a experience doctor in the ER. Joe talks to himself and says things don't get better than this. Karen tells Frank and Emilo to wait for a third degree going south and might have to move him to the burn unit to Mercy. Emilo wants to try again at the nurse at ICQ, but Frank says go ahead because the nurse will only shoot him down. He grins then take off. Frank makes a comment that Karen must be happy that Joe is back to work. She sarcastically says how did we limp long without him. LOL. Lucy and Scott arrive and tells Karen they were run off the road by the motorcycle. Scott says he wonder what that kid was thinking driving out in the rain. Karen says she will check him out and heads off. Meanwhile Joe is attending to that kid, Karen comes in and coldly ignore Joe. The kid claims he is alot of pain, but Eve says they can't find anything wrong. Garcia comes in and Jamal(accident guy) says the people may of hit him on purpose.
Lucy wonders why it is taking so long to find out, and Scott says he wish they was a way to protect motorcylists when driving. Lucy tries to blame Rachel on this accident because they driving around in a down pour to find out what she was up to instead of being home with her two girls. Karen returns and informs there is no life threating injuries and know more when they get x-rays. Unfortantely, she has to leave, but Garcia needs to talk to them in the waiting room. He asks how fast they were driving. Lucy says they were not going fast and infact they were flooding with the car. Scott was going around the motorcylist, but he verred in front of them. Scott turned, and bumper caught his back tire and they went this way he and went the other way. Lucy's mad and accidently reveals they were going to mental insituations called the Van Wyck(how many mental places do they have in PC. LOL). Rachel overhears Scott telling Garcia they went there to visit's Lucy relatives and she doesn't look like a happy camper as we fad out

Act III

As we return, Joe and Eve are going over Jamal's Xray. Joe says he is rusty, and Jill the nurses says he is full of it.(Couldn't agree more) Eve asks if the guy is looking for a free fix, but thinks it is alot of moaning and groaning. Jill and Joe flirt(she says that Joe was her favorite scab) when discussing the upcoming nurses party at the Recovery room. Afterwards Eve just loves their flirting--not lol. Joe finds Frank sleeping in a room, and asks why he is still around. Joe asks why because he must be wacked out from the last shift, and Franks, looking tired, tells him he needs the money. Joe quotes the parademic handbook(article 7) that all personal should be all good working order.(Funny how Joe is paying attention to rules at the moment, but not when it apply to what he wants to do) Franks says that chief resident doesn't have an issue with it but says he has a problem with her. Joe says that is not up for discussion about Karen with him and as he is leaving Frank says now finally he knows he feels.
After talking to Lee on the phone, Scott literary runs into Rachel. Scott apologizes and Rachel says she is glad he is one peace. Rachel offers her shrink help and Scott says he doesn't need it. Rachel tries buttering Scott up with her agenda with the hospital plans and once again get him on her side for board member. She then uses the tactic that Lucy would be subjected to possible embarrasement with the interviews. Scott says his money is on Lucy, and Rachel smiles fainty as she once again fails with him. Scott says "May the best man win, And Rachel goes "May the best woman win." Rachel asks why Scott was going to Van Wyck insition before the accident, and he says yep. Rachel replies she has a couple patients and knows her way around there before leaving Scott.
Another accident(multi-vechicle TC) is coming and says it is in a man and woman, Eve reports to Karen. Karen orders the woman to 2 and man to 1 room. Karen goes with the woman and Eve takes care of the man and says his name his Tim in the ER. A bunch of medical data she talks about and Joe comes in and aid her. Tim Synder asks how his wife and the man says he is four years sober to Joe who is asking about the accident and wedding. Karen comes in and gives Joe an icy cold glare. She tells Tim that his wife(Kathleen) will be okay after cleaning the cuts. Eve comments about the temper change in the room to Joe and he says he didn't notice anything. Tim says that Karen practically frosted the place and Eve says the patient is not only conscious and he is very aware. Tim asks what the problem is? Eve points out Joe. Joe says they were going out for awhile. Eve says kinda and Joe says it is over(Finally!) Tims says it was over with him and Kathleen tons of times. Joe say lets try this that he plays the patient and he will be the doctor. He then tells Eve to stay out of it

Act IV

Eve talks to Tim's wife and tells her that she is not allowed to make any promises but he should be okay(unfortanetly he dies on Friday 14) Kathleens say that her and Tim never made any promises, nothing certain then why pretend. Eve says the rings is real and can see him shortly. Eve encounters Scott. He asks the motorcycist will be okay. Scott says that is relief but Eve says don't be too sure. Eve breaks the confidental problem of patients and informs Scott that he claims there is extreme amount of pain but they find a reason why. Scott tells it is a good thing he is a lawyer because he really needs one now. Eve conforms and says something like that. Jill(nurse) asks Jamal if she contact a family member and he says no. Scott just walks in and ask they guy if he is Jamal Woods and tells him to beat it after learning he was responsible for the accident. Jamal tries conning Scott with his pain(like the things he used to do before the accident) but Scott tells he is sure that he will be doing the Fox Trot real soon. Jamal isn't happy that the doctors are discussing his case with him(unethetic), and Scott tells him he is stupid that he arrived in the rain with bike. Scott told him he should of slowed down and he did he not cause this accident. He informs him that he is a lawyer and this is no win situation. Jamal tells Scott to spell Settlement. Emillo and the nurse don't work out again. lol. Frank asks a drugged out Karen if any word on that burn victim, and she has to remember. Karen suddenly recalls that the man stablized and she is sorry he forgot to tell them. Karen says it been a long night, but Frank says seems like more than that. The look on Karen's face says to me that she thinks that Frank know about her but she retorts and says three words: The Scanlon Brothers. Karen says that atleast Joe isn't in her face all the time. She leaves and sacrastically says to Emilio: "Did someone say you were cute."(low) Frank is figures to Emilio that is the old Joe and Karen thing but says with a puzzle look on his face that she is usually cooler about than that. Frank and Emilio leave for Java.
Rachel see Lucy and tells she heard she was in accident. Lucy seems so thrilled to see her and seems suprised she heard already about the accident. Rachel laughs when Lucy says she must be disappointed that she isn't in the laid out in the morgue flat. Rachel calls her paranoid, and Lucy sacarcastically says that Rachel had her had dianogsed her that quickly. Rachel says it easy when someone in her position. Lucy asks what positon and Rachel say running for board and is way over her head. Rachel says the pressure is getting to her and is chasing her patients in the middle of the night. She says to Lucy to she told her careful but she already has had accident. Lucy in top form and she right here and says she is standing upright and she is survior. Rachel says she is keeping an eye on her and will pick her up when she falls. Lucy uses that expression "phsycians heal thy himself" and says that applys to you. Lucy confidently walks away with Rachel smiling.
