My VCR being as screwy this week as my life has been, I missed the very beginning of the episode – but not more than a minute. When my PC day starts, Eve and Rae are talking at the bar about Eve’s taste in clothes and how everything old is new again. Rae advisies Eve to go all out on the wedding. Eve describes her fiancé as romantic, practical and gentle in a very non-wimpy way. Oh – and incredibly sexy (on that we do both agree.) Kevin comes in – looking incredibly sexy by the way – and realizes that they have met but introduces them anyway.

Frank (not too shabby in the sexy department himself) answers the phone. A not-very-happy voice informs Frank that all debts are due and payable. Frank needs just a few more days, but the voice coldly informs him that one way or another Frank will pay that day. Courtney discusses Amanda’s party planning. Frank needs money for – uh – rent. Courtney cheerfully tells him not to worry, that she is working on something that will pay off really good.

Neil pretends to be enthusiastic about chili, but the smiles come out for real when Frank produces macaroni and cheese. Neil tells Frank that when Courtney is happy, she really pigs out (just some PC trivia I thought I’d throw your way.) Frank rushes off to go to “work”, Neil invites Frank to watch sports with him the next day and eat unhealthy things. It’s apparent that Neil is warming up to Frank, but Frank looks a tad sad anyway.

Joe yells at Karen about his schedule and accuses her of pay back. Karen dresses him down but good (go Karen!). Chris calls Courtney who needs to find a babysitter and will then go to the hospital to see him. Chris looks a tad worried. Kevin realizes who Rae reminds him of – Eve. They have the same high energy and laugh. Eve tells Rae her middle name is – Rae. Matt struggles with the Parastep and Joe helps him to sit down. Matt needs to work on his upper body strength. Matt is going to go take a shower (get my hopes up why don’t you?). Frank asks Joe where Mike is, but wants no help from Joe. Matt doesn’t know either, but he’ll have Mike give Frank a call. Frank goes to the Recovery Room with Matt and someone is following them (no, it’s not me. Not that I would – in fact I would love that job. I think I would be very good at it. The only problem would be when they went in separate directions. I think I’ve lost focus here – maybe I need to concentrate on Matt in the shower. Yeah, that helps! Not with my focus, but it helps anyway.)

Eve discusses the wedding cake and Rae and she gleefully decide that it should be double chocolate with white chocolate icing (okay, that is the ONLY thing that would get me to Kevin/Eve’s wedding – maybe someone could just save me a piece – or two. Or a tier.) Rae wonders about the input of the mother-of-the-bride, Eve becomes a tad sad. Eve leaves. Kevin wonders how long Rae will be in PC, she responds she will be as long as the writers – er until she finds what she is looking for.

My Victor! Man this is the day for great looking sexy men. Victor is gonna watch Neil for Courtney and Courtney pretends interest in Victor’s latest tale from the past and then makes a quick exit. Neil has math homework and wouldn’t you know it, Victor is an expert in mathematical physics. Well actually, Neil is doing fractions but Victor is an expert in that too. It’s not the only thing Victor is an expert in, when Neil brings up the father/son day at school, Victor knows how hard it is to develop that particular relationship. It took him and Monk years. He suggests Neil invite Frank as a friend, plus Neil’s friends will consider Frank’s paramedic job cool (I guess Neil will leave out the fencing and the gambling jobs being the smart boy he is.) Victor thinks Frank qualifies as a real hero.

Frank is at the Recovery Room with Mary who has been very very busy as she demonstrates with a wad of money she puts in the safe. Matt – gorgeous as always – has a late date – with his doctor (oh well – if it can’t be me). They are all being watched again. Mary has to leave and Frank heroically offers to take over. Matt heads out the door with her, very nice smile (pout – I am so gonna miss it!). This leaves Frankie baby all alone – temptation staring him right in the face. Well it is when he looks down and eyes the safe – very unheroically I might add.

Rae feels awful for upsetting Eve. Why would anyone waste a beautiful daughter like Eve she muses. There is room in PC for one more handsome man – who apparently strolled right on past those elves. Tony arrives, ready for his dinner with Rae. Rae’s been drinking with the “handsome gentlemen” aka Kevin. Tony informs Kevy that he is a lucky guy. Rae wants to get together with Kevin and Eve before she leaves town. She tells Tony that Kevin is darling and so is Eve. She also tells him that Kevin informed her how alike she and Eve were and that she thinks Eve may be the one. Your daughter asks Tony? Hmmmmmm.

Joe thought Matt called it a day, but Matt is thinking of the possibilities. Matt believes if he never walks again –so be it. But if this device can actually prepare his body for walking, he would be an idiot not to give it his all (and that is one thing Matt is definitely not.) Karen snaps at Joe in the hallway and Joe accuses Karen of having a big ego. (Hey Joe- pot –kettle – black). They are yelling when Mat walks out – and I mean folks WALKS out – into the hallway. He walks on over to Karen (and let me tell you it’s a beautiful sight) with a smile as big as his overgrown heart. In case I haven’t mentioned this, my hat goes off to Mitch (and the rest of what I wear – just kidding) – this last week we have seen again what powerful performances Mitch is capable of given the chance. I am so glad I have been invited along to watch him take this journey. Anyway, off the soapbox and into the soap – Karen and Joe give Matt a hug, temporarily together in their happiness for him.

If Courtney has something to say, Chris tells her in the stairwell, then just say it. Courtney’s been busy – as has Chris’s crazy-like-a-fox wife. Chris gulps – you mean the fake pregnancy? No says Courtney – the real one that produced a bouncing baby girl names Christina Baldwin. Chris looks more than a tad caught (do you like the way I keep throwing in my fav AMC character? LOL) Speaking of sexy, Chris looks that way when he’s worried and when he is caught. And when he’s happy. And when he’s half-dressed. And when –

Frank checks his watch and checks out the safe again. Neil decides that Frank is nice to his Mom and a good Mac and cheese maker and maybe he should invite him after all. Frank looks at the safe. Invite him, urges Victor, do you have his pager number? Frank turns out the lights – yeah baby Frankie in the dark – and looks at safe again. Neil dials his pager number. Someone with black gloves and a key unlocks the door. Frank kneels down at the safe, reaches inside. A gun is pointed at him (oh no!) and then it goes off. Neil thinks it is great that Frank will be at the Father/Son event with him. Frank is lying on the floor – blood everywhere.

And that is where – sadly we must leave him.

Ta! Until we meet again...
