Lucy and Christina say hello to her favorite ex-husband (Lucy’s not Christina’s) Alan (part of the invasion of the General Hospital elf dodgers) and apologizes to Rae for brushing her off earlier. She tells Rae how Nurses’ Ball-y she is and wants to discuss it with Alan but darn it, he needs to talk to someone. He goes off to do this and Lucy begins to question Rae about just how close she and Alan are. Rae asks to hold Christina. Lucy believes everyone should hold one child a day. Lucy wonders if Rae has kids and Rae admits she does have one. Alan comes back and announces that he works fast and Rae replies, yes she remembers, earning them another speculative look from Lucy. Rae’s phone rings and Lucy takes the opportunity to try to quiz Alan but – and very timely – his beeper goes off. Lucy’s curiosity is left unsatisfied.

Dara calls Scott on the phone. She needs a good lawyer for her cousin. Scott agrees to help and she turns to cousin – Jamal and informs him help is on the way.

Frank wakes up and asks for Courtney who is sitting right by his side. She insists he is going to be fine but Frank wonders why she is looking so worried then. Courtney wants to know how big in trouble Frank is. As if on cue – well let’s face it it was on cue – Sonny and Goon 1 and Goon 2 enter the room.

And it’s time for the opening – hello Kevin! Unfortunately, that’s all we will see of him today.

Sonny is oh so sorry to interrupt and wants to know if Frank knows who he is. Frank replies yeah you’re the coffee guy - okay really he just nods. Sonny is politeness itself, wanting to know how Frank is feeling. Courtney is not, being very cold to Sonny when he acknowledges her (blonde, egotistical, difficult, headstrong – wonder if she reminds Sonny of anyone?) Sonny wonders if Frank saw who done it, but Frank says it was too dark (which is kinda funny cause I saw Frank just fine – even with the lights turned down dim). Karen walks in and doesn’t exactly jump for joy when she sees Frank’s company. Sonny is far happier to see Karen, but she freezes him out very quickly. Sonny makes a quick exit and leaves Goon 1 – Rick – at the door. Sonny and Mike discuss a robbery where nothing was taken. Sonny surmises the gunman may not been after Frank after all – Mike could have been his target. (A very nearsighted gunman – I know I would be worried.) Sonny leaves to make phone calls.

Courtney worries that Frank is in REALLY big trouble, but Frank jokes that maybe Sonny is the hospital’s new welcome wagon. Courtney, unamused, informs Frank that he should have told her about the money, but Frank thought he had it covered, with the money he was gonna “borrow” from his Mom (that getting permission first part seemed to have slipped his mind – or what is left of it ). Frank didn’t want Courtney getting involved, but Courtney says she already is. Awwwww – love.

Scott tells Jamal that Dara failed to tell him the identity of her cousin, but since the cops took creative licenses (something soap writers know all about) by taking him to the hospital, that he was going to ask some questions and see what he can find out.

Lucy wonders if she can help Rae. Rae just wanted to check on Tony – who just happens to be Lucy’s favorite – second – ex-husband. Rae realizes that Lucy has a thing for doctors) especially really cute, sexy, unpinheaded ones). Lucy slyly points out that Rae does too. They switch the discussion to daughters and how Christina is adopted. Lucy realizes that is what happened to Rae’s child. Rae asks Lucy to keep her quest for her daughter a secret (proves she can’t be Eve’s Mom – she trusts Lucy.)

Scott breezes back to jail with the news that Frank cleared Jamal’s name. Jamal is on his way out the door when Scott tells him you’re welcome. Jamal remembers his manners and thanks Scott – for knowing how to work the system (which is very lauyer-like of Scott). Scott shudders on his way out of the jail.

Victor and Mary are oh-so-concerned about poor victim-ish Frank. Neil comes by to see him, all concerned-like too, and declares Frank a hero. Karen – apparently being on a power trip is easier when you are tripping – tells Sonny he can’t visit Frank cause she said so. Sonny wonders if Karen is okay, but Karen points out that when anyone gets hurt Sonny is never far behind. And then Karen stomps off to fire the elf responsible for caving in to the size of Johnny’s - gun – and letting Sonny into the PC side of town.

Lucy and Christina work on an acceptance note to Amanda’s party. Scott has news for Lucy – you took off the storm windows Lucy asks in a very Cleaverish way – no, but he is still going to. He tells Lucy about helping Jamal out, but still labels him a two-bit con man (and Scott should know.) Lucy introduces Scott to Rae, Rae understandably thinks Scott must be a doctor. Alan tells Rae Lucy is full of surprises. Alan and Rae go for coffee, leaving Lucy finally someone to gossip her suspicions with. Scott is shocked Rae trusted Lucy with a secret, and Lucy proves her trustworthiness by immediately telling Scott what it is. Scott doesn’t want to get involved with anything that close to home, but Lucy wants to help Rae find her daughter.

Sonny tells Mike Frank had a serious gambling problems, and a serious debt to match. Sonny once again tries to talk to a standoffish Karen, and then tells her he he will help Frank his way (a shooting a day -) and she can help him hers (hey Frank – wanna share a pill?) Karen and Mike share an uneasy look after Sonny leaves.

Courtney and Frank discuss Neil’s new attitude toward Daddy dearest. Courtney is still worried something further might happen to Frank. She spots Chris in the hall, and after a few quick I love you’s, goes out to talk to him. Courtney informs Chris that he has until the end of the next day to cough up the dough or she is spilling her guts at Amanda’s party – with Scott and Lucy there. Chris tries to stall her but Courtney is unstallable. She promises that it’s going to be one hell of a party.

And that is it for today.
