Port Charles Update for Monday, 5-Jun-2000

This is what I call a "last minute" update. Basically, the day is already past, and no one has signed up for it. I watched the episode, but I didn't take notes or anything. This is just what I remember, which is better than the "nothing" that was here before. So, here goes:

The main thing that happened today was the Judge's ruling regarding Christina. Everyone assembled in the courtroom (Chris, Julie, Scott, Lucy, Gail and Lee, Frank, and Alexis). Courtney showed up to "support" Frank, but he told her he didn't want her there, so she left.

The Judge first ruled that, although she agreed that Julie had been defrauded by Chris and D.V., this had not prevented Julie from claiming her child in a timely manner. So, Julie's petition to claim Christina was denied. Julie's previously granted visitation rights were also revoked.

On to Lucy....the Judge basically thought Lucy's behavior was "flighty" (of course, she used more technical terminology) and she wasn't going to accept Lucy's petition to adopt at that time. However, Lucy could re-file the petition at a future date.

On to Frank...his petition had apparently been just that he had been defrauded of his rights as Christina's biological father because he hadn't been told he WAS her father. The Judge accepted this. Frank had NOT actually filed for custody or visitation, but the Judge made it clear that he could still do so.

On to Scott...the Judge ruled to uphold his adoption of Christina. However, she strongly suggested that Scott and Frank work out a visitation schedule. She said that, if they couldn't agree on something, she would mandate an "official" arrangement.


Other things of note....

Kevin and Eve returned to work after their honeymoon. They run into Amanda's granddaughter first thing. She teases them about not telling them what's been going on in their abscence. Finally, she tells them that nobody at the hospital is even speaking to Rachel. This, apparently, is the extent of what Eve and Kevin missed in a week.

Eve looks through her patient charts. She notices that Ian has changed something on one of them. She tracks him down in the intern lounge and basically throws a fit. How dare he mess with her patients? Around here, they consult with the doctor of record before making changes! He better learn to respect her as a doctor! (I didn't see what the problem was...she had been on vacation, and he had obviously been assigned some of her patients.) The two go back and forth along these lines for awhile. Eve admits to being impressed that Ian had worked with Doctors Without Limits.

Eve later runs into Joe, and proceeds to rant and rave about what a rude chauvenist pig etc. Ian is. Ian has come in the door and is standing behind Eve. He overhears the whole thing. Ian and Joe are exchanging smirks the whole time. When Eve realizes Ian is there, she says she is glad he overheard, because it saves her the trouble of repeating everything she just said.

Eve was saddened to hear that Claire died while she was out of town.

I may have left some things out...but I think I hit the major highlights!
