Port Charles Update for Tuesday, 25-Jul-2000

Outside Jamal's, he tries to protect Eve from Cedric by pretending that she really wants to be on the other side of the building. Eve says she has a bad sense of direction, starts to walk away, but Cedric grabs her arm. He warns her not to repeat anything she may have heard. After Eve leaves, Jamal tells Cedric that he doesn't approve of his tactics and that he wants off his payroll. Cedric reminds Jamal that he still wants the money and threatens Alison's safety. Later, inside Jamal's, Eve wants to call the police but Jamal protests. Eve asks if he is protecting her. She thinks he is protecting Alison also. Before Eve leaves, she asks Jamal if "this" is the right way to handle it. Jamal makes a phone call and says he'll make the "damned delivery."

Estelle holds a tea party to commemorate the death of Grace. She sits and strokes an imaginary Grace. Rachel asks if the nurses gave her the proper medication today. Estelle calls her stupid and clumsy and says that Grace was perfect. Estelle tells Rachel that she was always a disappointment to her. Grace was beautiful, but Rachel was "ordinary." She reminds Rachel that Kevin must pay for killing Gracie.

At GH, Courtney insists she has a right to know if Joe has AIDS, because she must protect Neil. Frank drags Courtney away. Mary is outraged that Courtney would lie about something like this. Joe explains to her that he has been exposed to the HIV virus. Frank tells Courtney that she handled the whole situation poorly. Courtney says she would have preferred to discuss it with him but she never sees him. She doesn't want Joe around Neil. Frank can't believe she is so unreasonable and says that Joe would never endanger Neil's health. Mary tells Joe that she is dismayed that he didn't use better judgment. She thinks she raised him and Frank better than that. Joe admits he made a mistake. Mary takes him in her arms. Joe weeps. Mary eventually apologizes for her behavior. She explains how she has always worried about Joe's safety. She is relieved that so far he has tested negative. They hold each other. Frank tries to avoid talking to Courtney. She becomes more and more upset and insists that Joe not be let near Neil. Frank just wants to get away from her. He goes to Joe and reminds him that he can always talk to him or Mary if he needs to.

Lucy brings Livvie aka Charlie back to her hotel room. She puts the video tape of Christina away. Livvie asks about a picture of Serena and Christina. Lucy says they are her daughters, but they don't live with her. Later, while they share room service, Lucy and Livvie awkwardly try to get to know each other. Livvie says she noticed Lucy's wedding ring. Is Ian her husband? Lucy says he's just a new acquaintance. Lucy talks about being on the GH board. Livvie wants to know about Lucy's kids but Lucy doesn't want to discuss them. She asks about Livvie's family. Livvie replies that she doesn't have any. Later, they are having fun, talking about Livvie trying on some of Lucy's clothing. Livvie goes into the bathroom, presumably to try on an outfit, but she calls Rachel on her cell phone. Rachel answers but brushes her off. Livvie becomes very upset. She comes out to Lucy and cries, telling her that she has nowhere to go. Lucy takes Livvie in her arms and lets her cry. Lucy tells Livvie that she wants her to sleep in her hotel room tonight. Livvie asks why. Lucy explains that if one of her girls was alone and needed help, she'd hope someone would care for them. Livvie says that she ran away from her mother.

Rachel vows to Estelle that she will make Kevin feel the same pain they've felt. She tells Estelle that she wants her to be proud of her. They hug.
