Port Charles Update for Friday, 11-Aug-2000

Scott is sitting in a gazebo-like structure outside the firehouse. Lucy joins him and thanks him for the opportunity to tuck Serena in. It reminded her of how simple things used to be. Lucy says she's happy to be there talking with her "pal" but she can't think about what might be in the future. They've been through so much. Scott reads through reports from all over the world from those looking for Christina. Lucy asks him what he does when he gets those reports. He says he reads every one. Lucy is touched. Lucy thinks there is no reason why they should ever give up hope of finding Christina. Scott thinks they'll be a family again if they find Christina. Lucy strokes his face. She leaves.

During the next two scenes, when Livvie is telling Kevin about her nightmares, and when Estelle is telling about how Grace died, the camera keeps going back and forth between the two actresses.

Kevin arrives at Lucy's hotel room. Livvie thanks him for coming so quickly after her call. She had the same dream again. Kevin compares her dream, where she is in the dark, to her life where she has said she has felt like she's been kept in the dark. Kevin asks who raised her. Livvie says her mother and her grandmother. What about her father? Livvie replies that he's dead. She says her mother is so strict and controlling, that it suffocates her. She describes her dream, how cold and dark it is in the water. She sees a lot of dolls floating in the water. She says she screams for help but nobody can hear her. Kevin takes her hand. He says he can help her. She screams at him and runs into the next room. Kevin tries to convince her to come back out, but to no avail. Lucy returns and is surprised to see Kevin there. He says that Livvie's nightmares are getting to be too much for her, and for him too. Lucy suddenly realizes what Kevin is going through. Livvie's nightmares about drowning are just like his memories of a fatal drowning. When Kevin leaves, Lucy convinces Livvie to come out of the bathroom. Lucy holds her as she cries about her nightmares.

Estelle tells someone who is off-camera that she didn't know that she was getting a new therapist. She says that she wants to call her daughter. Chris walks behind her and says he has already spoken to Rachel. Now he wants Estelle to fill him in. Estelle asks why, if he has already spoken to Rachel. He responds that he wants to know about Livvie. Estelle picks up her doll and begins stroking its hair. She finds it hard to believe that Chris knows about Livvie. Who told him? Chris says Rachel. Estelle says that Livvie is her beautiful granddaughter. Chris says he doesn't usually do special therapy but Rachel treated someone close to him, so he's returning the favor. Estelle explains that she used to see Livvie all the time before she came to the sanitarium in Port Charles. Chris asks why Rachel moved Estelle away from Livvie. Estelle says "secrets, family secrets." Chris tries to convince Estelle to tell him the secrets. He asks if she had another daughter. Estelle says yes - Grace - her favorite. It's not her fault that she has a favorite. Rachel makes it impossible to love her. Estelle tells Chris about Grace dying. She tries to imagine the horror she must have felt, trapped underwater. She says that Kevin saved himself, but not Grace. Chris asks Estelle if she knew Kevin. She answers yes. Chris asks if it is possible that Kevin is not responsible for Grace's death. Estelle says no - he's a murderer. Chris wants to know if Livvie knows Kevin. Estelle replies that they wouldn't let Livvie know that monster. Estelle lies down. She says "we have to protect Livvie. That's all that matters now." Chris puts a robe over Estelle, who is holding the doll. Chris says "there's no reason why Livvie should know her aunt was murdered." When Estelle says "she wasn't", Chris says "but you just told me that Kevin killed Grace." Estelle reveals that Grace was not Livvie's aunt. She says "poor Gracie, she never got to know her precious little girl." Chris is taken aback, saying "her?? precious little girl?" Estelle talks about seeing Grace in Livvie, especially her smile. Estelle tells Chris that nobody must ever know that Grace is Livvie's mother. Chris has that Ramsey smirk while he says that the secret is safe with him.
