Port Charles Update for Thursday, 21-Sep-2000

At a nurses' station, Joe and Gabriella do some flirting. He asks her out, but not for tomorrow. He is being tested again tomorrow. Gabriella wants them to go for another boat ride on the river.

While Eve is sleeping on his couch, Ian lies on the floor right next to her, watching her face. She smiles in her sleep, which evokes a smile from Ian also. Later, Ian finds out via a phone call to the police, that none of his things have been recovered. Eve wants to examine him before she leaves. (who wouldn't?) She tells him to take off his shirt. He reminds her that he had a head injury. As she listens to his heart, she jokes about the fact that he has one. They discuss the lab reports getting mixed up. Ian sent Mr. Green's tests to an outside lab. Ian thanks Eve for spending the night but insists she leave and go to her husband. As she goes up the stairs, he watches her. The phone rings. The results are in for Mr. Green already. Ian arrives at GH and runs into Dr. Boardman who asks if the police have found his assailant. Dr. Boardman pumps Ian for information. Ian ribs Dr. Boardman about having to walk out to his Porsche all alone. Ian teases Joe and Gabriella about their date. Joe smiles. He's glad that Ian is back to his old self, but why is he back at the hospital so soon? Ian says he's there to pick up a patient's test results. Joe notices that the label is from an outside lab and comments about it. After Ian reads the test results, he gets on the phone. How could Mr. Green be dying when he was perfectly healthy three weeks ago?

Outside the lighthouse, Kevin has visions of Grace drowning. Lucy comes to visit and knows instantly what he's going through. Kevin says that now that he knows that Livvie is Grace's niece, it's like watching Grace drown someone else. When Kevin tells her that he will continue to treat Livvie, Lucy is concerned for him. Not only will he be reminded of Grace, but he'll have Rachel to deal with. Kevin and Lucy both think it isn't a coincidence that Chris is involved. Lucy tells Kevin that when Scott's and her search was over for now, they realized they were over also. Kevin wants Lucy to be sure before she makes any quick decision. Lucy hopes that she and Scott can be friends like Kevin and she are. Eve comes in and heads straight for Kevin and gives him a big hug. Lucy looks on sadly. Eve tells her she should get home to her own husband. After Lucy leaves, Kevin tells Eve about Lucy and Scott separating. Eve feels terrible. She asks Kevin to make love to her.

At Chris', Livvie remembers her conversation with her mother about her father. Chris comes in, interrupting her thoughts. He tells her that he checked on her a few times last night and he knows that she didn't get much sleep. Rachel knocks loudly at the door. Chris opens it and Rachel pushes past him, asking where her daughter is. Livvie says that she's right there, where she's been all night. Rachel admonishes Chris, telling him that this is low, even for him. Livvie tells her mom that Chris never took advantage of her. She asks Chris to get her mother to leave. Chris calls security to come and get Rachel. When Rachel makes negative remarks about Kevin and Lucy, Livvie reminds her that she's no saint. What about her one-night stand with Livvie's father? When Livvie says "like mother, like daughter" Rachel slaps her face. Chris takes Rachel's arm and leads her to the door. He snidely remarks that he'll take care of her little girl. He goes back to Livvie, holds her and looks toward the door with a sneaky smile.

After discussing where they want to go on a date in Manhattan, Joe and Gabriella decide to have dinner at Joe's house.
