Port Charles Update for Friday, 22-Sep-2000

Friday show was well written and acted. Kudos to Kiko Ellworth, Erin Hershey, Nicholas Pryor, Mary Crowley, Sarah Aldrich, Ion Overman, Colton James, Jay Pickett, Carly Schreoder, Kin Shriner, Lynn Herring, Peter Hansen, and our former cast member, David Gail. Friday Sept 22, David Gail was his last show.

Act I

''To being alone at last,'' Joe


The Firehouse

Lucy is packing away her things and Scott is helping her. The awarkwardness, sadness and silence can be felt in the room. Serena comes down the stairs and watches Lucy glumly.


Chez Scanlon

Gaberiella is lighting the candles when Joe enters the dining room with wine and they toast to their evening alone. Suddenly Victor, Mary, Neil and Frank enter the house and interrupted their date.

Act II

"I guess that happens when people pack things up. They get broken,'' Serena

PCPD

At the station, Garcia tells Jamal things will go much smoother if he returns to his orginal confession. Jamal replies that everything will go much easier for everyone else if he does. Garcia tells him that it will save the state and others a long and costly trial if he accepts the deal. Garcia reports that the DA made a offer that he will only get only five years with good behavior instead of 25 years if he decides to takes it.
Lee asks Garcia for time to talk to Jamal about it. After he leaves, Jamal tells Lee that there is nothing to talk about. Lee reports that he can say yes to the deal or hope the courts will find him innocent. Jamal says that system works against people like him. Lee tells him sometimes the system can suprise him.
Then Alison burst in and interrupts the conservation. She informs him that she knows about the so called deal with Garcia. Lee comments that the deal is a fair one. Jamal informs her that 5 years is better than 25 years. Lee tells her that they are talking about his options. Alison declares Jamal is innocent and she should be the one who should talking to a lawyer. Jamal tells her to stay of out it. Alison bluntely says to forget it especially after everything they have been through.

Chez Scanlon

Victor informs that Mary wanted to cook dinner tonight. Neil comments that she is making corn beef and cabbage. Mary thought Joe might want some company tonight. Frank, Mary and Victor make up excuses to not stick around the house. I thought they were pretty funny as they lied not to wreck Joe and Gaberiella private evening. Neil was pretty funny too because he didn't care and wanted to eat the meal suggested. Joe tells them to have a great evening and he is more than eager to kick them out. I thought David Gail was a hoot as he tried to get rid of his family. Gaberiella calls out to the group to wait and tells them they are worst bunch kind of actors she had even seen. She then proceeds to invite them to Dinner, because she has plently for all. Gaberiella offers Neil a tour of the kitchen and testing the food. It was funny when Victor wanted to ''test'' the food too.
Frank apologizes and said he didn't realized Joe had plans. Joe say that the plans changed. Mary lets him know that Frank was worried about him. And it is was perfectly natural to be nervous because of the upcoming HIV test but she didn't mention it due to Neil and Gaberiella. Joe informs them that Gaberiella knows everything know. Mary is glad that Gaberiella is there because she didn't want him to be alone. Joe says happily that alone is one thing he is not. Victor says they wanted Joe to be with people that loved him. LOL, on Frank saying he only wanted his mom's Cornbeef and Cabbage. Joe laughed outloud and appreciates them worrying about him but it wasn't necessary. Mary comment was the best, when she told him, ''yes, it was.'' I love PC when it has close simple family moments like this one.


The Firehouse

As Lucy packing away, Serena enters and Lucy looks up. Serena comments that she notices they are pretty busy. Scott says they always have time for her. Scott then jokes about breaking something of Serena's years ago. Serena says unhappily that what happens when you pack things up, they become busted. Lucy's comment on protecting a baby picture of Serena in a box. Serena tells her she can't stop pretending she wants to adopt her.

Act III

The Firehouse

Lucy tells her with much determination and emotion that she wants to adopts her because she wants to. Serena doesn't seem convinced but find it weird because S&L are breaking up. She comments that adoption should make a family grow closer. Scott explains that they are different kind of a family. Serena says sarcastically, the kind of family that lives apart. Serena then asks Lucy if remember staying her room when Lucy first moved in. Lucy does and loved it there. Serena then suggests doing that again or moving to a new place that won't remind Lucy about Christina. Lucy looks much in pain where she hears her other daughter's name. Scott is very honest and breaks to her that they won't be living together anywhere. Serena looks hurt and says it isn't fair. Scott tells his brokenhearted daughter, he knows it not but that way it is. Lucy tells her that even though her and Scott don't live under the same roof, but still going to love her. Lucy says with a tearful look that she is her mother forever.

Chez Scanlon

I really love the family dinner that is featured in this scene. It is so warm, loving, and fun, and make me wants to join them. I love how Mary and Gaberiella wants to exchange receipes. That oftens happen at real life family dinners with the woman. LOL, on Victor little tale how sharing between different cultures is a tradition from the middles ages. I loved Neil comment about how the potluck supper in the hundred years war that Victor refered to, was disgusting. Mary is glad that Joe is eating. LOL. on Joe saying if he doesn't, he will hear about the potatoe famine again.

''Growing children need to eat well balanced food,''

I just love how Mary started that line and Joe and Frank finished it off. A year ago, the Scanlon family was so apart(remember thanksgiving), now they couldn't be so closer. And I for one, couldn't be happier. When Mary mentions eating vegetables is important, Neil comments his mom says it too. Mary doesn't look impressed to hear her name but agrees that that is one thing her and Courtney have in common to keep her son healthy. Joe asks Gaberiella if her mom forced her to eat. Gaberiella laughs and say you have to fight for food in her family. Frank comments even though it was only Joe and him, they would battle for the last helping. Joe chuckles that he won alot and Frank agrees that he always got the last brownie. Gaberiella mentions she has some in the oven and Neil is thrilled. He heads to the kitchen to help her out.
Suddenly Courtney enters the house and mood drops in the house. Now the family dinner has became tense due to her presence. Courtney states she came her to pick up her son but Frank says she arrived early. Victor tells her that Neil is the kitchen. Courtney is very rude and asks if the food is bad. Joe says no, and Frank looks irriated. She takes a bite out proudly of the food in front of the family. She smiles and says she has a busy day tomorrow, due to shopping with Neil. Frank says angrily that running out innocent kids put in the chips. Courtney smirks that is a nice attitude for a guy who is out on bail. Frank retorts back and says he wouldn't been arrested if she hadn't turned him into the cops. Neil comes out with the brownies and overhears the whole thing in shock.


The PCPD

Alison accuses Jamal of giving up. Jamal retorts so what if he is. Alison points out she is innocent and they will realize it. Jamal says innocent means squat from where he came from. Alison cries out they will prove it. Jamal says how are they going to do it without Cederic's orgainzer. Alison says they will find it and that fool Garcia will see that he had no motive to kill Cederic. Jamal mentions Garcia one time offer, and Alison thinks he should pass. Jamal says she might feel different if she was locked in a cell. Alison says she realizes how serious the charge is. Jamal told Alison to live in the real world and understand that no one would ever believe he was innocent. He says the world see Alison as ''rich blond airhead that couldn't possibly couldn't kill anybody and see Jamal as trouble. Alison looks hurts by the comment and says she doesn't. Jamal tells he doesn't view her airhead. They are not the world and they are just two people. Alison then states that they are two people that will prove that everyone is wrong.

Act IV

''Forget it Mom! I'm not going home with you,'' Neil

The Firehouse

Lee consults with Scott about Jamal's choices that he has to make. Scott comments that life is full of choice, good or bad. He observes how he has no idea what happens in the galaxy just like his own life. Lee expresses that he and Gail are sorry that things didn't work out. And it is tough to weather what they have been through. I love how Lee is always supportive toward Scott. And that Scott knows he can always count on his father. What a wonderful father and son relationship they have.
Inside the firehouse, Serena asks Lucy if she wants the Mom mug. Yes, she reports and will take with her. Serena says that Lucy is leaving her and Dad behind. Poor girl, her world is falling apart before her eyes. Lucy says that not true, she is not leaving them. Serena is a part of her heart and she would die without her in her life. Serena asks if her and her dad still like each other. Lucy says yes and Serena ask why they can't live with other. Lucy is tearful and becomes honest with her. She states she won't say everything will be fine because it won't be. Lucy tells she is afraid if her and Scott stay together, it could get worse and could hate each other. Serena ask tearfully that they did got married. Yes, Lucy said, they did but didn't live happy ever after. Lucy promises they will love her ever after and holds her very tight. What a touching moment between Serena and Lucy.


Chez Scanlon

Neil asks his mom if she put Frank in Jail. Courtney states that the police put him there. Neil says that Frank would never do anything bad(not entirely true lol) Victor tries to keep things calm by saying each parent thought they were doing was right. Courtney says she was only obeying the law and not her fault Frank is in trouble. Franks tells it was just a misunderstanding and things will be cleared up.
Courtney informs to Neil they have to leave because they have early shopping trip in the morning. Neil wants nothing to do with the money, she got for turning Frank in. Courtney tells him they can discuss at home. Neil says he is not going home. Mary is about to say he can but Courtney interrupts saying she is mother. Then Neil explodes and angrily says now she decides to be his mother after weeks on chasing after reward money. And now he finds that his mom turned Frank in, and tells her forget it, he is not coming home. I thought Colton James was outstanding in this scene. I notice that Frank doesn't say much at all, but I know he will Monday. LOL, on Victor offering brownies at that tense moment.
Joe and Gaberiella leave quickly toward the kitchen. Joe is sorry about playing family fued tonight. Gaberiella says no problem, it happens in her family too. She states she doesn't scare easy to Joe. Good news, Joe says they can still can have a first date and that she is looking forward to it.


PCPD

Jamals says no deal to the DA offer. Garcia says okay and is ready to go the county lock out. Alison begs for more time to find evidence to clear Jamal.
Meanwhile at GH, the orderely has had enough of the organizer and drops it in the trash. Back at the police station, Alison tells Garcia to do anything to keep at the PCPD. Garcia says calling her family lawyers can help. Alison says her grandmother will fire them if they decide to help her. Jamal says to forget it, he can fight his own war. Alison says no way and don't want him getting hurt. Jamals says go back to her own life. As they are leaving, Alison begs Garcia don't do this or that they will kill him. Garcia has no choice and departs the room. And we leave Alison looking very worried as we end the week.!
