Port Charles Update for Thursday, 5-Oct-2000

Alison arrives at Jamal's apartment. She is dressed seductively and has a sexy smile on her face. Alison says that she is there to look for an earring. She is obviously uncomfortable as she squirms in her short tight skirt. Alison tells Jamal that she has a date with Chandler. Jamal teases her, insinuating that she has made all this up. She asks if he is jealous. Alison explains she's just getting on with her life like he wanted. Alison taunts Jamal by talking about dining and dancing with Chandler. She kneels down and bends over to pretend to find her earring under the couch. Her skirt splits. Jamal snickers. The news show on tv says that an interview with the informer is coming up, but the informer will be in silhouette. Alison and Jamal both think that you can't believe what you hear about stories like this HIV story. Alison leaves.

Estelle takes care in applying her makeup. When Kevin arrives, she tells him it's been too long. He was just going to say the same thing. Kevin wants to know why Grace never mentioned her niece, Livvie. He also wants to know why Estelle and Rachel never talked about Livvie. Estelle says she just wants to ask Kevin one thing. He guesses - to stay away from Livvie. Estelle explains why she tried to stop Kevin's wedding. She resents that he has gone on with his life but Grace is dead. Kevin sees that Livvie really needs him. He can't believe that Livvie turned out to be such a sweet child if Estelle and Rachel raised her. He starts to leave. Estelle grabs a letter opener and hides it behind her back. She pleads with him not to leave. Estelle pretends to be upset about Livvie and starts to cry. She asks Kevin to get a hanky out of her drawer. When he opens the drawer, he sees a photo and takes it out. Estelle lunges at him with the letter opener, but Kevin catches her arm. Estelle screams that he's a monster as he leaves. Outside her door, Kevin looks at the photo. One the back it says Grace and Livvie at age 2.

Chris encourages Livvie to share his pizza, but she's upset about Rachel. Livvie tells Chris that the reason Rachel wanted her out of Port Charles was her grandmother's condition. Livvie also reveals that when she asked her mother to sing a lullaby, Rachel didn't sing the one that Livvie remembered from her childhood. Livvie tells Chris that she likes talking with him because he's the only one in her life that doesn't try to tell her what to do and who to see. She wonders if Kevin and Lucy don't trust Chris because of Julie. Chris tells her how her grandmother tried to stop Kevin and Eve's wedding. Livvie is amazed. She wonders what the connection may be with Kevin, Grace and her grandmother. Alison arrives and orders a slice of pizza. Looking very sad, she goes to sit down by herself. Jamal arrives, sees Alison, starts to order something, but leaves before she can see him. Chris tells Livvie that he thinks that Estelle's trying to stop Kevin's wedding had something to do with Kevin knowing Grace.

At the Scanlon house, Frank tells Joe that he thinks Neil misses his mother. Joe insists that Neil is better off with them. Frank agrees but says that Courtney has been a good mother to Neil. On tv, an announcer says that he'll be talking to the person who leaked the story about the HIV resident at GH. Later, we see Courtney in silhouette with her voice disguised. Joe wonders who it could be. Frank thinks that it is Courtney. At the tv studio, the interviewer asks Courtney why she would want to alarm everyone. Courtney answers that she is a concerned mother.
