At GH, Ian overhears Boardman ask someone on the phone "how long has she been that way?" Boardman says he'll be right there.

In the mirrored room, Eve watches Kevin and Lucy embracing. When they notice her, she asks what is going on. She thought Kevin was there to see Rachel. Kevin and Lucy explain that Rachel said that Ryan was Livvie's father. When Lucy insinuates that Eve would like that, Eve is highly insulted. Lucy leaves. Eve says she is trying to be supportive but Lucy has squirmed her way back into Kevin's life. While Eve talks abut their marriage, she has flashbacks of kissing Ian. Joe and Gabriela come in, looking for a romantic rendezvous. Eve and Kevin leave them alone. Joe tells Gabriela that he wants them to see each other exclusively. Gabriela teases him about "going steady." As Gabriela and Joe are kissing, Neil and Serena come in to tell them that they don't want to miss something that is going on at the party. Joe is a little annoyed, but Gabriela convinces him to go.

At the Masquerade Ball, Livvie tells Jack that she recognizes him as the guy she met at the river. He asks if she is trying to get away from someone. She says no. He leads her outside. Alison is alone and Jamal sneaks up on her. As they start to kiss, Neil and Serena are videotaping them. Alison and Jamal pull away from each other. Outside, Livvie and Jack are also about to share a kiss, but are interrupted by a voice calling "Livvie." Livvie tells Jack that's her name. As he rushes off, she realizes she didn't get his name. Chris finds her and asks her to come back inside now that Rachel has left. As Alison and Jamal hide in the garden, they hear Amanda nearby. Alison goes to bring her grandmother inside. Amanda wonders where Chandler is. Alison goes inside. A waiter approaches Amanda and says he's been looking for her. She bites his head off.

Boardman enters Estelle's room. He asks the nurse if Estelle has been like this all night. He is relieved to find out that Rachel hasn't been notified. The door is ajar so that we see Ian at the other side listening. Boardman tells the nurse that mood swings are typical of her condition. She asks what that is. He answers it's a protein disorder. When Estelle wants to know what they're talking about, they leave the room. Ian hides around the corner and then enters Estelle's room. She brightens up when she sees Ian. She had hoped he would return. When he hears Boardman returning, Ian hides in the bathroom. Estelle tells Boardman to hurry because she has a gentleman caller in the bathroom. Boardman thinks she's just crazy and leaves. Ian comes out. Estelle says she doesn't like Boardman. Ian tells her she's right if she doesn't trust Boardman. He asks if she has had any fever or shortness of breath. She says no. Why does he want to know? He tells her he's had patients recently with those symptoms. He asks to look at her neck. No mark. Ian calls a friend of Joe's and asks him to run confidential blood tests. He goes to take Estelle's blood.

As Kevin and Eve are leaving the ball, Lucy stops them and urges Kevin not to leave. She tells him that Livvie is there. Eve tells him that she had talked to Livvie earlier and their meeting was not good. Kevin finds Livvie with Chris. He tells her he wants to continue to help her. She asks why. Because he is her father? She says he'll never be her father. She rushes off, leaving behind a bewildered Kevin and a content Chris.

Amanda invites her guests to view a tape about children at GH. Instead, they see the tape of Courtney bad-mouthing everyone from the Quartermaines to the Barringtons. All are amused except for Courtney, who is humiliated, and Joe, who is standing with Neil and is obviously concerned for the boy. Amanda tries to turn off the tape but is unsuccessful. Courtney can't turn it off either. When the tape gets to the part when Courtney says that Joe is the doctor who is HIV positive, the nurses at the ball lay into Courtney. Courtney goes to Frank and accuses him of being responsible for this. Neil says it's his and Serena's fault. They switched tapes. He asks his mother how she could say such things about Joe. Amanda asks Courtney to leave before she has her thrown out. Neil hugs Joe and says he's sorry.

At the lighthouse, Kevin tells Eve that Livvie doesn't want anything to do with him. Eve says she's sorry and tries to comfort him. He remains aloof but says she has nothing to feel sorry for. She wants to get someone to cover her shift at the hospital. Kevin says that she should go to work instead of staying home with him. She pauses outside the door and cries.

Livvie runs off into a wooded area. Jack watches her. Chris finds her and tells her that he'll be strong for her. Jack leaves after seeing Chris hold Livvie.

Outside, Joe tells Gabriela that he's glad everything is out in the open. Gabriela tells him that her answer is yes. She wants him to be the only one in her life. Three guys come along with ghoulish masks on. Joe jokes that Halloween is over. They grab Gabriela and beat up Joe.
