Port Charles Update for Wednesday, 22-Nov-2000

Outside Lucy's hospital room, Ian and Eve quietly congratulate each other for finding a cure for the disease Rachel injected Lucy with. They share a brief, yet somewhat uncomfortable hug (it's been that way ever since "the kiss"!)While Eve checks on Lucy, Joe tells Ian that Detective Garcia has closed down Rachel's lab and is on the hunt for him (Garcia's always hunting someone down-occupational hazard) to retrieve both his and Rachel's research notes. Ian tells Joe he will be happy to give Garcia whatever he wants. Joe says the authorities want the remainder of the antecdote for the disease and Ian says he won't give that up. Kevin and Livvie have found Rachel at the pier, but Rachel is furious with Livvie for leading Kevin to her. Rachel tells Livvie she did everything for her and Livvie's grandmother. Livvie begs her "mother" to please let Kevin help her and that she is scared for her and what will happen if the authorities find her. Rachel replies by yelling and scolding Livvie (and calling her some pretty choice names-never knew Rachel had that in her!) and Kevin steps in to protect her. He tells her she has done a good job raising Livvie and that now that Livvie is grown, Rachel can rest, as she must be very tired. Rachel seems to go into a trance like state as she says that she is very tired of all the lies and the work it took to cover them. She sits down on a bench and as Kevin sits by her and talks to her, Rachel quietly takes a big piece of wood and swings it at Kevin and knocks him out. Livvie screams in horror. Meanwhile...Psychic Lucy begins to get extremely agitated because she "knows" Kevin is in trouble. She tells Eve she has to leave the hospital and find him or call him. Eve tells Lucy she is going nowhere, they don't know enough about the disease and she needs to recover. Lucy tells Eve she knows Kevin is in trouble, and begs Eve to go find Kevin. Ian returns to Eve and tells her that the cops are tearing the lab apart and confiscating all the research notes, but he saved them on a disc (that Ian is always thinkin!) Ian asks Eve to go with him to take care of something they need to do "together" and Eve says she can't. She needs to find Kevin, per psychic Lucy. Eve tries calling Kevin's cell phone and of course, he is hurt and can't answer (maybe he can "communicate" with Lucy). When she checks with the phone company, they tell her the cell phone has been turned off and this, of course, worries Eve. Livvie is begging her mother to help Kevin, he's hurt and needs help. Rachel tells Livvie that Grace never wanted baby Livvie and Rachel begged Grace to give Livvie to her to raise. Livvie is "hers" because Grace didn't want her. As this fight continues, Kevin wakes up and tells Livvie not to listen to Rachel. Livvie screams at Rachel that she hates her and wishes she would have drown instead of Grace. Livvie tells her mother she "disgusts" her and never wants to claim her as her mother anymore. She doesn't care what happens to her anymore.Estelle (Rachel's mom) wakes up in her room to the handsome Dr. Ian and says that Rachel never came for her like she promised. Ian tells Estelle he has something that will help her feel better and prepares to inject Estelle with the cure for her disease. Rachel tells Livvie she will give her one last thing to show her how much she "loves" her and jumps off the pier into the water. Livvie begs Kevin to save Rachel because she can't swim. Kevin dives in after her. As he is doing this, both Eve and Lucy are "summoning the stars" to bring Kevin home.
On the next Port Charles- Kevin frantically tries to save Rachel and promises Livvie Rachel wont die...
