Port Charles Update for Monday, 27-Nov-2000

Kevin continues to look for Rachel in the water after she took a "suicide dive" while fighting with Livvie (believe it or not Rachel is fighting him even under water-she won't let Kevin have Livvie, or die trying). Lucy has overwhelming feelings of doom as she knows Kevin is in trouble and tries to figure a way to help him. Eve tells Ian she has tried to find Kevin but to no avail. Livvie uses her cell phone to call for emergency help to assist Kevin and Rachel. Victor comes to visit Lucy in the hospital and Lucy tells Victor that Kevin is in trouble. Victor tells Lucy that she shouldn't worry, Kevin will be fine, and tells her one of his cute "Victor" stories to calm her. Lucy tells Victor she could never live her life without Kevin. He means too much to her and she can't imagine life without him. Eve tells Ian that if Kevin is with Rachel that she is a lunatic and he is in danger. Eve also tells Ian that she would know where Kevin was if she hadn't been so wrapped up in everything EXCEPT Kevin. She vows that if Kevin is ok, she will live up to her wedding vows and will try and mend things with Kevin. Meanwhile at the Pier.... emergency crews (aka Frank Scanlon) arrive to find a panic stricken Livvie just as Kevin swims to the edge of the pier with an obviously lifeless Rachel. As Frank puts an oxygen mask on Rachel, Kevin pleads with her to breathe (that Faith Hill song would be an appropriate serenade now). Rachel begins to show life as Frank asks whether it was a boating accident and Kevin replies that Rachel tried to kill herself and Livvie tells Frank that Kevin saved her. As the paramedics take Rachel away Livvie wants to accompany them but Kevin holds her back and tells her he will take her to the hospital. Rachel arrives at the Hospital to be met by Joe as the attending physician (been watching too much ER!) and Kevin and Livvie arrive moments later. Frank asks Kevin if Rachel tried to take him down with her, and Livvie is quick to point out that Rachel is not well and can't be blamed for her actions. Livvie tells Kevin she has to wait outside Rachel's trauma room in case she wakes up and asks for her. Mack shows up and asks Kevin what happened. Kevin tells Mack that he can't believe the lengths Rachel would go to make a point. Kevin is concerned that all he knows how to do is be Livvie's doctor, but that he wants to be her Father. Mack needs to ask Livvie some questions but Kevin urges him to wait. Eve and Ian arrive at the hospital and Eve is relieved to see that Kevin is ok. Ian offers to give Mack any information about Rachel that he might need, as Kevin explains to Eve about Rachel's suicide attempt and the fact that Rachel was recreating Grace's accident. Eve voices her wish that Rachel had died, but Kevin tells her Rachel needs to live for Livvie's sake. Kevin also tells Eve that the last thing Rachel told Kevin before she jumped in the water was that Livvie was Kevin's daughter and not Ryan's (was there ever really any doubt?). Kevin tells Eve there was a moment when he had an "aqua-thought" that if he just stopped struggling it would be all over. But his thoughts of being with her are what kept him fighting. Eve and Kevin embrace as a pained Ian watches, and enter stage right, Victor and Lucy, just in time to catch the "golden moment". Victor convinces Lucy that Kevin would be happy to see that she is up and around (which he was) and Lucy is relieved to see that Kevin is ok. In trauma, Livvie tells Rachel that everything is going to be ok, but Joe tells Kevin that even though Rachel's CAT Scan is normal, she is in a somewhat trance like state and not responsive. Kevin joins Livvie in time to hear how much Livvie loves Rachel and will not let anyone hurt her anymore. Ian asks Eve if there is anything he can help with and she tells him she has everything she needs (Ian: looks sad!) As Ian steps outside to muse over his feelings for Eve, someone is snapping photographs of Ian from afar. What's THAT all about?
...On the next Port Charles, Livvie hurtfully tells Eve what she thinks, and Kevin is furious that Lucy could have died as a result of Ian's experimental cure.
