The first few minutes are a replay of the last show. Lucy watches Eve and Ian outside the Recovery Room. Eve follows Ian to his car. She demands to know why he is leaving and he says he would tell her the truth, but doesn't know if she could handle it. As the clock inside the Recovery Room hits 7:00, Ian's car explodes. The windows of the restaurant shatter and the force of the explosion sends everyone to the floor. Jamal looks for Alison. Victor looks for Mary. Kevin, Lucy, Joe and Gabriela are all shaken, but ok. Kevin calls on his cell phone for help. Joe looks outside and sees Ian's car on fire. When Lucy expresses concern for Eve's safety, Kevin says that Eve left so long ago to go to the hospital, that she should be ok. Lucy struggles to decide whether or not to let Kevin know that she saw Eve with Ian. Joe lets everyone know that Ian's car is on fire. Jamal finds Alison buried under some boxes. She is unconscious. Lucky for her, there are so many medical professionals handy. They all rally to help her. Kevin talks to Frank, who is at General Hospital, and tells him to have Eve call him. Lucy reluctantly tells Joe that she saw Eve and Ian talking right before the explosion, but she doesn't want to tell Kevin. Too late! Kevin overhears her. Looking stunned, Kevin asks Lucy why she thinks Eve is with Ian. Not wanting to hurt Kevin, Lucy changes her story and says she is mistaken. Kevin says he knows she's lying, but he's sure that Eve was on her way to General Hospital. When Lucy looks skeptical, Kevin wants to know what she is thinking. Lucy answers that she thinks Eve was using the hospital as an excuse to be with Ian. Kevin is sure that Lucy is wrong. He rushes outside where Frank and Mac are saying that nobody could survive the explosion if they were in that car. Lucy tries to calm Kevin down, but he rushes off in search of his wife. Alison seems to be ok. Jamal is relieved. Mary is worried about everyone. Victor takes her in his arms and urges her to stop worrying and let him worry about her for a change. Frank comes in and embraces his mother.
Livvie and Jack enter her hotel room. She thanks him for being there when she needed someone. She feels badly that she left her party because she knows that Lucy and Victor worked hard to throw the party. When she realizes that her grandmother doesn't know about Rachel, Jack says he'll take her to see Estelle. At the sanitarium, Estelle is thrilled to see Livvie. She teases her about Jack's good looks. When Livvie tells her grandmother that Rachel is not coming to take them out of town, Estelle is very sad. She says that both of her daughters have left her. Now she has nobody. Livvie assures her that she'll always be there for her. She's so happy that Estelle is doing much better. Estelle tells Livvie that Dr. Thornhart is responsible for her improved health. Estelle has a coughing fit. Livvie calls for a nurse. Jack gives Estelle a glass of water and calms her down by rubbing her back. Livvie watches him in action and is in awe of him. Livvie and Jack return to her hotel room. She tells stories about her and Estelle doing fun things together when Estelle was healthy. She asks Jack how he knew how to deal with Estelle when she had her coughing fit. How did he know how to rub her back? Was he a doctor in a former life? He tells Livvie that there is only one thing she needs to know. He gives her a long, passionate kiss.
Kevin charges into General Hospital, looking for Eve. A worried Lucy follows him. A nurse tells him that she hasn't seen Eve, but she knows she was called earlier about a patient. Kevin starts to get frantic, yelling that he knows Eve must be there. Lucy tries to reason with him but he rushes off, almost knocking over Joe. Joe tells Kevin and Lucy that Mac told him that the police found the remains of two people in the car. Jamal brings Alison into the ER. The clerk at the desk tells them that Alison's insurance has ended and they can't treat her. Gabriela interrupts and says that General Hospital doesn't turn away any patient in need. Jamal is furious as Alison is taken away in a wheelchair.
At the explosion site, Lucy desperately tries to convince Kevin that they should not be there. Kevin insists that Eve will call him. Maybe he should try calling her again. Mac tells Kevin that they found something. He hands Kevin Eve's wedding ring. Kevin and Lucy are in shock as they look at the ring in disbelief.
