Port Charles Update for Thursday, 14-Dec-2000

Livvie takes the police tape off the door to Rachel's apartment and goes inside. She flashes back to seeing Lucy and Kevin together on the bed. After finding a photograph in a shattered frame, Livvie answers the knock at the door. Jack says he knew that she'd need him. He says he's going through some of the same stuff she is. When Livvie acts cool toward him, Jack wants to know what is wrong. Did Chris tell her something about him? Livvie tells him that Alison did. She knows about him posing as Alison's boyfriend for money. Now she wonders if she can trust him or is he just playing her. Livvie starts to tell about how she walked in on Kevin but can't finish. She tells Jack that she can't believe he didn't know that Chris was his brother. She asks how he has been dealing with the loss of his mother. Livvie apologizes for not being more understanding. She hopes that they can remain friends. They kiss. Livvie wants Jack to stay, but he has to go.

Chris lets an investigator into his apartment. He tells him that he wants him to get rid of his kid brother.......permanently. There should be enough dirt on him to find. Chris says he's not doing this for himself but for someone else and she's definitely worth it. When he mentions the name Livvie, the investigator remembers that she was the one whose father Chris had him find. Is Chris in love with her? He jokes about hoping she isn't another serial killer like Chris' first wife. The investigator asks Chris if he loves Livvie. Chris says love has nothing to do with it. He talks about playing with clay when he was a child. The investigator asks him if he wants to mold Livvie. Chris tells him to just get the goods on Jack.

At the Recovery Room, Lucy is daydreaming about being with Kevin in her hotel room, when Scott joins her for lunch. She tells him that she couldn't tell Kevin the truth: that Eve was in love with another man. Lucy tells Scott about the note that Ian started writing to Eve. She *knows* they were having an affair. It upsets her terribly that she lied to Kevin about Eve. Scott says that she did the right thing. He tells her that she is falling in love with Kevin again. She isn't so sure he's right. Lucy brings up that Scott is involved with Laura again. They have moved on but they will always be pals. They are connected. They share a child. Scott thinks that maybe the kiss between Eve and Ian never happened. Maybe it was just Ian's fantasy. He asks Lucy to promise not to talk about it with Kevin. Lucy agrees, reluctantly.

Eve wakes up and recalls her dream about kissing Ian. Clutching a note pad, she writes a loving letter to Kevin. When Ian enters, she says she's making research notes. He tells her that they don't need to. Eve says that Harris will never go for it. Harris enters. Ian says that he looks terrible. Ian tells him that he has an irregular heartbeat. Harris wants to know what will be done about it. Surgery? radiation? Ian produces a vial. Harris asks what it is. Ian tells him it's poison. Harris can't believe that they would think he's stupid enough to take it. Ian says it won't kill him. Would he tell him if it was harmful? It's the only way to kill the parasite in his body. Eve pleads with Harris to take the poison. She wants to go home to her husband. Harris grabs her and holds a knife to her neck. Ian says he'll prove that there's not enough poison to kill him. Ian swallows the poison himself.

At a nurses' station at General Hospital, Colleen is having trouble with the computer. Lucy says she can help. Colleen walks away and Lucy reads a DNA report that says there is a 99.9% chance that the two bodies found in the explosion are not Eve and Ian. Lucy can't believe they are still alive.
