Port Charles Update for Friday, 15-Dec-2000

Lucy sees the DNA results before Kevin. They show that the odds of the bomb remains are 99.9% against it being Eve and Ian. Lucy concludes that the only logical explanation for this is that Eve and Ian left town together, which explains Eve's rings being left behind. When Lucy runs into Kevin at the hospital chapel she isn't sure whether or not to tell him her theory. Kevin, who has finally sobered up, tells Lucy that he has decided to take her advice and only remember the good things about Eve. Then Kevin decides to go see if the DNA results are in so Lucy fakes a coughing spell and asks him to get her some water to distract him.

Joe and Gabriella decided that "tonight is the night"! Frank agrees to cover for Joe to their mother and tells him to have a good time. When Joe arrives at Gabby's apartment the timing is anything but perfect. Dinner is burning, the place is a mess, and Gabriella is not dressed. She asks Joe to come back in an hour or two, instead he sits down on the floor in the hall outside Gabriella's apartment and refuses to leave. Gabby is a nervous wreck but Joe reassures her that it is not what she can do but rather who she is that matters. He tells her that he thinks she is wonderful and she finally opens the door and lets him in. They decide to skip dinner and go straight to "dessert"!

In order to save Eve's life as Harris is holding a knife to her throat, Ian drinks the vial of poison. Harris releases his grip on Eve and she runs over to Ian. Harris tells them that if Ian lives then he will take the poison to kill the parasites that are killing him. As soon as Harris leaves the room Eve tries to save Ian, unfortunately she does not have any medical supplies to help save his life. Ian gets cold, then hot, and becomes delirious. Eve is angry and frustrated because there is nothing she can do to help him. During one period of time Eve is in the other room and being delirious, he states aloud that he is in love with Eve. She can't hear him though and asks him what he was trying to say.

Harris enters the room and can see that Ian is in bad shape. He recommends that Eve forget about Ian since he is a lost cause and that she should be spending her time trying to save Harris. Eve tells him "where to go" and that she cares about Ian. After Harris leaves the room, he talks to the guard outside the room for a few minutes. The guard asks Harris if Ian survives and is able to come up with a cure for Harris' disease, is the plan to get rid of Ian still in effect. Harris says yes, but that he doesn't want anything to happen to Eve because he has plans for her and wants to keep her around for himself!
