Jack figured out that Chris bribed the desk clerk to keep his calls and messages away from Livvie, thereby keeping them apart. Jack angrily confronted Chris, who, unfazed, told Jack to get a lawyer and take care of his probationary business and stay away from Livvie. Jack told Chris Lawyers cost money and he spent his last dollars on doctors to save their mother. Jack told Chris that nothing would keep him and Livvie apart. Realizing that money talks, Chris said he owed Jack for taking care of their mother, and in lieu of that, he offered Jack money to stay away from Livvie. Jack was pretty quick on the taking, with Chris opening his briefcase to reveal a few bundles of cash he had been toting around for the "right time". Jack took the money, and as Chris taunted him about taking the money and only using Livvie, Jack told Chris he was right, he only used Livvie to get to Chris and get money, and that he would leave, first telling Livvie goodbye. Chris, the ever-prepared one, pulled a tape recorder from his pocket after Jack left the room, with all the evidence he will, I'm certain, share with Livvie. Jack took the money and bought enough flowers to fill Livvie's hotel room and waited for her to return. When she returned and saw the flowers and Jack, she was elated and told him she was glad he was back and safe. Jack told her he was back and wasn't going anywhere, then they shared a pretty passionate kiss (won't last long, I'm sad to say, thanks to Chris). In the hospital...-true to the soap opera world, amnesia has struck as Eve struggles to remember the accident, as Kevin tries to fill her in on the details (what little he knows, of course). It appears the last time she remembers is Christmas Eve. A distraught Ian looked on, through the window of her room, and told Joe that Eve doesn't seem to remember anything about the time they were held captive, including her wanting to build a life with him. Joe urged him to not force it, as it could do more harm than good. But Ian, knowing the worst could happen (she could never remember) is convinced he can help her to remember and that their promises were to deep to each other for Eve's marriage to Kevin to last. She felt too much for him. After Kevin left for a break, Ian went to Eve's bedside, as Joe begged him not too, and held her hand, and for a moment, it appears in Eve's eyes, that she has a look of romantic love and may remember (but again, in true fashion, probably wont happen for a few weeks time!). Lucy paid Scott to hire him as her lawyer and after payment of a small retainer fee (which he quipped he was surely going to earn!)told him that she altered the DNA tests to show that Eve and Ian were not alive because she was trying to protect Kevin, as she assumed that Ian and Eve had run off together. Scott tried to explain to her that she has to be responsible for her actions and that it was ludicrous to think that Ian and Eve faked their own deaths, the explosion, and planting of 2 other bodies, just to have an affair. Apparently, Lucy wasn't thinking (new one!). She needed to stay out of Kevin and Eve's business (again, a new one!). Scott told her that the best way to handle the situation was to confess to Kevin and plead for forgiveness. She felt there was another way to handle it than telling Kevin, but that she couldn't go to prison. She made Scott promise he would help with the remaining legal problems that will ensue from tampering with the hospital computer (especially as a member of the hospital board) and falsifying test results. Lucy has got herself in a sticky one this time!
On the next Port Charles...Eve talks to Ian, and Lucy tries to tell Kevin the truth about the DNA tests.
