Port Charles Update for Friday, 12-Jan-2001

Kevin rushes into the lighthouse, screaming for Eve. He answers a knock at the door. It's Lucy. He doesn't want to talk with her, but she says they have to talk right now.

After seeing Ian embracing the driver, Eve goes back up the stairs. She has a flashback of Gabriela telling her that Ian is in love. Back downstairs, they hear something upstairs. The woman thinks that someone is after her. Ian goes upstairs to discover Eve there. She says that she had her cab stop there so that she could stop by to thank him. He wants her to stay, but she rushes off. When he returns, he tells the woman it was a friend of his. She is nervous. She says "they" will always be after her. She won't tell Ian who "they" are. Ian thinks that she was too busy looking over her shoulder the night of the accident. That is why she hit Eve. After many questions about who would want to kill her, Arianna finally admits that it's her family. Arianna thinks it was her brother who posted her bail. He wants her dead. Arianna asks Ian why he doesn't try to go after Eve. She says it's so obvious that he's in love with her. She'd give anything for a man to feel that way about her. Ian says that this is one subject he won't discuss with her. Arianna asks Ian how he can feel that way about a woman and walk away. Later, Ian brings Arianna a snack. She tells him that she hasn't felt this safe in a long time. She asks if she can stay with him. He is evasive. Arianna shows Ian a picture of her brother, Ben.

Eve visits Karen. Karen tells her that Kevin is worried about her. After calling her husband to say she is fine, Eve pours out her heart to Karen. She thinks that she looked like a fool when she stopped by to see Ian. She saw him being protective of a beautiful woman. She says it was obvious that they are lovers. She is upset that she still fantasizes about him. Karen reminds her about the kiss that happened before they were kidnapped. Eve believes that spending time with Kevin will help her stop fantasizing about Ian. She hopes he doesn't go back to work at General Hospital. Karen seems skeptical that Eve will be able to get past her attraction to Ian.

Lucy tells Kevin that what she did was awful. She feels especially horrible because it wasn't that long ago that she promised Kevin that she would never lie to him again. She doesn't know what comes over her. She takes out her tarot cards and explains that when she uses them, she bends things to suit her needs. She rips up the cards. Lucy pleads with Kevin to not shut her out of his life. She thinks Kevin hates her. He says he doesn't. He's just mad at her. Kevin says that Lucy does things impulsively, but that she shouldn't change. He knows that she's always been there for him. Lucy puts her hand on his face and tells him that she loves him. He takes her hand away and says "we have to stop this." Kevin emotionally explains to Lucy that he thinks that they open themselves up to each other too much. Lucy keeps insisting that they have always loved each other and always will. Kevin says that he took vows. Eve is his wife. Lucy gives him those sad puppy-dog eyes. He takes her in his arms and kisses her deeply and passionately.

Karen sits at the bar at the Recovery Room. A stranger tells her that his sister was at General Hospital. He shows her a picture of Arianna. Karen says she doesn't know her. Ben says that his family must find her.

Outside the lighthouse, Eve approaches the door. Ian calls out to her. He says that they have to talk.
