Port Charles Update for Monday, 22-Jan-2001

Lucy and Daryl (the real estate agent) go out to dinner, to celebrate Lucy’s independence. Try as she might to enjoy being a free woman, all Lucy can think about is Kevin. She calls Daryl “Kevin.” She sees Kevin’s name next to every dish on the menu, sees his face on the champagne bottle, hears the conversations around her punctuated with the name “Kevin.” Daryl finally gets the idea that Lucy’s mind is not on him, and takes off.

Eve, back at Harris’ compound, hears Ian’s voice, telling her “All you need to know is that I love you and we belong together.” She looks up, and it’s Kevin standing there. He found out from Victor that Eve was there, and says it was a mistake for her to go back there. Eve tells Karen about the vision of Ian, then tries to insist the she loves only Kevin, than Ian loves someone else, and never loved her or wanted her. It was hard to tell who she really wanted to convince – Karen or herself. She’ll forget about Ian for good, since nothing happened, as the note to Kevin proves, asserts Eve. Major guilt for both parties when Kevin said “I can only imagine what must have went on in here” and when Eve told him how all she could think about during her captivity was how devastated and ALONE he must have been. Eve still insists that there’s nothing in that missing time for her to need to remember. She shows Kevin the note, and he promises to make everything up to her, for even suspecting anything went on between her and Ian. Eve vows her love to Kevin, they kiss and as they embrace, we flash back to Lucy, drinking a lonely toast to Kevin; Kevin sees a vision of Lucy and Eve has memories of Ian. Ian, as you’ll see in a minute, is otherwise occupied. Upon leaving, Eve and Kevin have difficulty looking one another in the eye.

While Ian is at General Hospital inquiring about a women’s shelter, Ben and Ariana struggle at Ian’s apartment. He accuses her of letting another man who was not her husband touch her, tells her that he is to blame and that she no longer has a family. She appeals to him to be there for her, but he refuses. Ariana tries to run away, Ben chases her up the stairs, grabs her and Ariana takes a tumble down the stairs. Ariana pleads for help, as Ben stands over her looking guilty. Back at the hospital, Ian tells Gabriela a bit about his new friend. Ian tries to call Ariana, and upon getting no answer, he takes off in a panic. He finds Ariana unconscious on the floor and calls for an ambulance. Gabriela is there when Ian brings Ariana in, and they begin to work on her. Ian is looking terribly concerned, and with this new woman in his life, seems to have very little time to fantasize about his “loss” of Eve.
