Port Charles Update for Tuesday, 23-Jan-2001

As Lucy is telling Livvie all about her new house with the new furnishings and that she has started dating (yeah-if you could call the real estate agent who ran screaming from the restaurant a "date") Livvie wonders what is behind Lucy's changes. Perhaps an unwillingness to face the dissapointment and hurt of Kevin renewing his wedding vows with Eve. Livvie tells Lucy she has "met" someone and that they are getting serious and Lucy gives her the pep talk on responsibility and making sure you don't get hurt, etc. etc. Lucy is an expert! Lucy splits for the police station to clear up unfinished business (aka her "arrest") and Livvie goes to the hospital to pick up a prescription from the on-duty nurse (what's up with that, one stop shop??? ever heard of a pharmacy???) and Chris sees her there. After inquiring what prescription she came to get and getting a NO from the nurse (way to go!) he pops into the computer (he never changes) and sees that Livvie just picked up birth control pills. He makes a phone call to someone and says he needs them to do a job for him! Yikes-with Chris that could mean anything!

Kevin and Eve discuss their wedding plans and Eve tries to sound like the happy bride, but something is missing. However, Kevin thinks that after Eve revisiting the place she was held captive, that she needs happiness and love and that's what Kevin vowed to give her the day they were married, so be it. Kevin goes to the police station to ask Mac to be at the wedding and tells Mac that everything for the wedding is going along great, and Eve is very happy, this is all she wants. Mac sees right through the facade and wonders outloud whom Kevin is trying to convince. Kevin asks Mac if he can get the charges against Lucy (for changing DNA results and assaulting a police officer) dropped. Mac thinks he can probably get her some community service and a fine. Kevin doesn't, however, want Lucy to know he asked. Lucy arrives at the station and tells Mac she needs to straighten out the mess and apologize to Garcia, but Mac says it's not necessary and tells her he can get her off with a slap on the wrist, a fine, etc. Lucy knows Kevin is behind this.

After spending the night at the hospital waiting for news on Ariana, Ian is awakened by Chris, who is very curious about Ian's new "friend". Ian tells Chris she needs to be protected from her family. Ian talks to Ariana and tells her when she is released from the hospital, he has arranged to set her up at a womens shelter where she will be safe. Ian tells Ariana that she lost the baby. Ariana tries to convince herself the baby would have made her life a little complicated and difficult, but she still would have loved it. She thanks Ian for being a true friend and caring about her.

Eve calls Karen to see if Ian is back on rotation at the hospital. She needs to come meet with Chris but doesn't want to run into him.
Eve asks Chris to put her back on rotation next week, after her renewed wedding vows with Kevin. Chris teases (as Chris is so good at doing) but agrees it's good to have her back and alive. Chris leaves and Eve is conveniently standing outside Ariana's door (totally coincidence!) when Ian walks out.

On the next Port Charles...Serena quizzes Lucy about Kevin and Eve's wedding vow renewal, and Ian tells Eve that despite everything they went through in the kidnapping, not all was bad (hey-it was pretty good from where I was sittin!)
