Port Charles Update for Monday, 12-Feb-2001

Arianna tells Ben that she can't get pregnant soon. It wouldn't be safe so soon after her miscarriage. Ben is skeptical about this information. He wants to know who told her that. "Dr. Lambert?" he asks with obvious hatred in his voice. As he's leaving, Ben tells Arianna that the only way she can redeem herself in her family's eyes would be to have a legitimate child.

At the Recovery Room, Alison tells Frank about her money problems. Jamal comes in, unnoticed, and overhears their conversation. He has flashbacks of the guys offering him a job for easy money. As he leaves, he bumps into Jack, who is looking for Livvie. Alison comes out and gives Jack some major attitude when he asks about Livvie. Alison thinks Livvie may be at GH looking for her grandmother. She goes to make a call to the hospital. Jamal asks Jack what happened. Jack tells him that Livvie caught him with Lucy. Alison comes out to say that she couldn't locate Livvie. Jack has an idea where she might be. He leaves. Alison and Jamal go back into the Recovery Room where Jamal looks at some papers of hers while she isn't watching him. When she sees him, she grabs the papers and tells him there will be no snooping. Privately, Jamal asks Frank what Alison was saying about cash before. Frank says he doesn't want to get involved. Jamal calls Travis and asks if the job that he was offered is still available. After Alison kisses Jamal goodbye, she tells Frank that her money problems will be over soon. Just wait until Jamal sees what she's done. Outside, Jamal asks for information about the job he's going to do the next night.

Chris doesn't know what to make of a naked Livvie in his bed. He reminds her that the last time she tried to seduce him was to get him to confess that he set up Jack. She says she isn't wearing a wire and invites him to frisk her. When Chris asks her what she wants, Livvie answers that she wants him to make love to her. Chris suspects that something happened with Jack. He hands the sheet to Livvie to cover up. She goes to Chris and says that he is the only one who hasn't hurt her. She drops the sheet to the floor. Chris covers Livvie up and tells her that he really must like her if he is not touching her. The doorbell rings, followed by loud knocking. They hear Jack yelling. Chris lets him in and he demands to know about Livvie. Livvie comes out wearing Chris' shirt. She says she doesn't need to hide her "relationship" from Jack. Chris insinuates that he slept with Livvie. Jack slugs him. Livvie gets between them. She tells Jack that she came there of her own free will. Jack says that she is there to get back at him. She asks if she got to him, then goes to the door and orders him out.

In the on-call room, Eve tells Ian that she remembers everything from their time together. She remembers when he gave her the bracelet, how they spent time at the cabin, how he told her that he loved her, and she told him the same. Ian wants to know if that is why she and Kevin are splitting up. Eve says that she told Kevin that she fell in love while she was held captive. Ian's reaction is a combination of elation and frustration. He takes Eve in his arms and says "you're finally free." She replies "you're not" and backs off. Ian says he thought he had lost her. All this time, he has wanted to grab her, to hold her, to kiss her. The doctors told him not to force her to remember. Eve wants to know if he still loves her, why did he marry Arianna? Was it just to protect her? She touches his face. The door opens. It's Arianna. She apologizes for interrupting. Colleen enters and asks Eve to come to the desk. Eve goes to leave, but tells Ian they have to continue their conversation. Arianna tells Ian that Ben came to see her. She says that Ben suspects their marriage isn't real. She also says that Ben said that Eve would be sorry she crossed him. Out at the nurses' station, Colleen gives Eve a package, which she says she wasn't expecting. Ian sees her with the package and screams to her not to open it. Colleen discovers that the package is from a pediatric patient of Eve's. Ian opens it and finds a teddy bear. He searches it and decides it is safe. Arianna talks with him privately and says that he has done so much for her. She wants to return the favor and give him an annulment. He refuses. He talks to Eve privately. He tells her the whole story about Ben wanting to kill Arianna. She is horrified. He also tells her that he still loves her "more than life itself." She is beaming. He explains that he has to be patient and he has to protect Arianna. Eve looks sad when Ian refers to Arianna as "my wife." When he goes to Arianna and says "let's go home," Eve looks like she has lost her best friend.
