Port Charles Update for Tuesday, 13-Feb-2001

Karen visits with Eve. Karen asks whether it’s true that Ian’s married someone else. Eve confirms this and Karen wants to know how Ian could be so in love with Eve, and then marry someone else on the spur of the moment. Eve tells her friend that Ian had his reasons, but she doesn’t go into the specifics, only that she was devastated when she found out, after she thought they’d finally be together. Then she asks Karen about herself, and finds out about Karen’s date with Frank, complete with the parents and the 30 year old computer. Karen tells Eve she swore she’d never fall for a “nice guy” again, because in the end, they never turn out to be quite as nice as they seem.

Kevin arrives at Lucy’s house to try to find Livvie. Lucy tells Kevin that Livvie knows the truth about her encounter with Jack. Meanwhile, Livvie is at Chris’ apartment, cutting her hair at his bathroom mirror as he looks on smiling. Back at Lucy’s, Kevin looks panicked over Livvie and starts screaming at Lucy, who retaliates by telling Kevin that Livvie is mad at him because he lied to her. Kevin announces that he must find his daughter but before he can leave, who should arrive but Livvie, with a sexy new outfit and haircut, accompanied by Chris. She’s come to collect her belongings. Lucy and Kevin look horrified while Chris gloats. Chris tells them that he got exactly what he wanted. Livvie tells Kevin he gave up his right to play Dad a long time ago and she leaves with Chris to attend a Valentines Day party at the Recovery Room. Outside the Recovery Room, Chris tells Livvie he’s proud of her for standing up to her father and Lucy.

Kevin storms out and goes home to the Lighthouse, to find Eve there. He explains the situation about Chris and Livvie, and Eve is just as horrified as he is. Eve, saying that she knows how to press all of Chris’ buttons, offers to go along with Kevin to the Recovery Room to find Livvie.

Lucy meanwhile, decides to take matters into her own hands and make sure that everyone ends up with who they are supposed to be with, and calls Jack to invite him to the Valentines Day party.

At the Recovery Room, Ian tells Joe about Eve getting her memory back, but that he’ll keep his commitment to Arianna. Outside, Arianna runs into Gaby, and remembering her encounter with Ben, asks how long she should wait before trying to conceive again. Gabriela sounds confident as she tells Arianna that it’s very possible that she and Ian will grow to care for one another. Although Ian tells Joe he can’t turn off his feelings for Eve, he embraces Arianna, who he introduces to Mary. Ian looks painfully uncomfortable as Mary speaks of marriage being forever, til death do you part. All of Ian’s hospital friends, thinking the elopement was very romantic, ask Arianna for the details. Joe tells Ian that he has to loosen up, make it look like his heart is with Arianna. Ian would like nothing more than to duck out of the party when who should conveniently show up but the friendly neighborhood immigration officers. Ian tells Arianna it’s time to sink or swim, so he proposes a toast to his bride and embraces her enthusiastically.
