Port Charles Update for Tuesday, 20-Feb-2001

Alison and Jamal get into a paint fight while getting the bike shop ready for business. Gabriela calls and tells Alison that one of the injured warehouse thieves has been asking for Jamal. Ali gets suspicious and confronts Jamal about his involvement in the robbery. He admits that he considered driving the getaway car, but pulled out at the last minute. As they’re making up, a biker comes in asking if Jamal can take a look at his ’78 Harley – their first customer!

Eve, exploring the lush tropical island, recalls Ian telling her of its beauty, and how people in true love are together throughout the ages of time. She looks as though she is comforted by these memories of Ian, and not pained by them. She hears a child cry out from inside a hut, and enters. Two men grab her. A man comes forward and instructs the 2 goons release Eve. He tells her that no on is allowed in the hut and she explains that she heard a child crying. He asks why she is on the island and she tells him of Ian, and the beauty he told her he’d find there. Then she hears the child cry out for help. Eve tells the man (I think he’s some kind of tribal leader) that she’s a doctor and wants to help the child. The man tells her the boy is suffering from a deadly, highly contagious illness and is being cared for by his mother. Eve pleads to be allowed to help the child, that this must be the reason she felt compelled to go there but he refuses. As she turns to leave, the boy’s mother comes out carrying the sick child and asks Eve to wait.

Ariana finds Gabriela at the hospital and expresses her concern over Ian. She shares how angry Ian was to learn of Ben’s threats to Ariana. Gaby tries to calm her friend, without success. Joe arrives and Ariana tells him how worried she is over Ian and he offers to go off and make sure Ian is ok.

Ben arrives at his hotel room to find Ian waiting for him, with a gun. Ben tries to reason with Ian, tells him he’ll do anything he wants if Ian will put the gun down (boy is it fun to watch Ben squirm for once). He tries to pacify Ian by telling him they’ve had a misunderstanding and tries to apologize. Ian gets furious when Ben mentions Ariana and talks about solving this honorably, like gentlemen. Ian retorts that putting a bullet in Ben may be his most honorable action for the day. Joe barges in, and Ian is distracted, giving Ben the opportunity to take the gun from him. Ben looks quite pleased to be holding the gun on both Ian and Joe. He tells Ian it would please him greatly to shoot him with his own gun and that once he’s out of the way, Ariana will be alone and vulnerable once again. Joe lunges for Ben (Ian’s her husband but Joe’s defending her?) and they struggle, the gun is fired and Joe goes down. Ben now turns the gun on Ian, who doesn’t look too concerned about his fallen friend.

On tomorrow’s PC, Livvie tries to pry a secret out of Lucy, and Karen & Frank finally share a smooch.
