Port Charles Update for Wednesday, 21-Feb-2001

Joe bursts into the room that Ian and Ben are in, and following a wrestle with the gun, it ends up in Ben's hands and he shoots Joe. With blood everywhere, Ian's heroic efforts to save Joe have failed and he tells Ben that he will be arrested for Joe's death. They wrestle for the gun again, Ian gets ahold of it, and tells Ben he is calling the cops. Ben makes a run for it and leaves the country on the next flight out. Turns out...it was a setup! With Frank and Joe's help (Frank followed Ben to the airport to make sure he left) it appears that Ben is out of Ian and Arianna's lives (Arianna is gonna be really bummed-no baby from Ian).

Karen shows up in Frank's garage where he is working on the old computer and apologizes for her evasive actions as of late. She tells Frank her mother convinced her that she shouldn't be getting into a new relationship during the first year of her sobriety. Frank and Karen determine that since they have known each other since they were kids, it's not new (now your thinkin). They kiss and promise to meet later at Frank's for dinner. As Karen is leaving the garage, she turns off the computer, and it magically turns itself back on as she is leaving (that computer is haunted-this is gonna be a story!)

Lucy talks to Livvie and convinces her to give Kevin another chance. He only says the things he does because he loves and cares about her and doesn't want her to get hurt. Later, Livvie runs into Kevin at the hospital and tells him she wants to make her own decisions, even if she has to fall sometimes. He agrees, as long as she doesn't shut him out of her life. Livvie tells Kevin about Chris arranging for her to occupy her mom's old apartment with her grandma. Kevin is still sceptical, but they patch things up. Kevin sees Lucy in the cafeteria and mistakes her paper bag as something of Livvie's and ...oops..out falls Lucy's pregnancy test. Kevin goes white (he should...Hello!!!!!)

Eve is on the island Ian told her about. After much talking, she convinces the island couple to let her help save their son who has been sick. She believes he may have something similar to hantavirus. She treats him (even giving him mouth to mouth when he stopped breathing) and eventually his fever drops and she begins to start making her own penicillin (did Eve EVER try out for Survivor, or Gilligan's Island???). As the moments tick by, Eve starts feeling fluish and finally passes out.


On the next Port Charles, Kevin wonders if the baby Lucy is carrying is even his....and Eve fights for her life. (we all know Ian will come and save her!)
