Port Charles Update for Thursday, 22-Feb-2001

Eve has treated the village boy on the island she is visiting and suddenly becomes ill and passes out. It appears she has been afflicted with hantavirus from contact with the boy. As she lies in the hut with a raging fever and delerious, the villagers try to take care of her, feeling that perhaps she will die. However, they do have their "healer" on the way (intended to help their son-who is now fully recovered) and therefore maybe the healer can help her.

Kevin questions Lucy on the pregnancy test that fell out of her bag, and questions whether the baby is his...else why would she be pushing him away. She assures him it's not his problem, she can handle it on her own, and he doesn't need to be bothered. Things are already strained between them as it is. Kevin says he is shocked, but they both share their memories of wanting a family together when they were a couple, why not now? Lucy leaves the hospital after refusing to see Dr. Newman for a hospital test, and Kevin follows her home. He begs her to open the door and when she confesses she is scared, he says he is too, but it appears they can be ....scared ...together!

Ian returns home to Arianna and tells her what took place at Ben's and about Ben leaving the country. Arianna doesn't believe it has finally happened, but Ian shows her a copy of the local paper with a "wanted for the murder of Joe Scanlon" article and Ben's picture (Ian has a friend at the paper!) and says he will send him the paper and a note that if he ever comes to the country again he will be arrested. Arianna sees that this charade is over, but Ian has news! He has bought wedding bands for them, and says he committed to be married to her, and that if they split up, INS will deport her. She is surprised (pleasantly I suppose) and she and Ian share a sandwich and a beer (wonder what will happen there!). Arianna tells him she knows he wants to be with Eve.

On the next Port Charles...As eve hovers near death, Ian comes to her rescue, and Lucy and Kevin consider their future family together.
