While Frank continues to try and revive the life of the ancient computer, Karen stops by with a surprise for him, an old record player and Rhonda’s collection of 1970’s music on 45 rpm’s. Just as they think the computer’s finally going to come to life, their elation is short lived. They dance instead. Frank steps on Karen’s foot and tries to blame his clumsiness on Rhonda casting a spell on him. Karen assures him that Rhonda has nothing against him and that she’s not calling the shots in Karen’s life. As they’re going to resume dancing, Karen’s cell phone rings. She’s been offered the opportunity to attend a pediatrics course in Tennessee. Later, over Chinese food, they try to avoid admitting how disappointing the separation will be and pretend to be discussing the computer when they talk about being so close to finally “getting it right.” Who do they think they’re fooling?
Eve’s fever breaks as Ian tenderly cares for her. She comes to and can’t believe Ian is really there with her. She shares with him her vision of their past on the island. He tells her how maybe she got a glimpse of another lifetime, that he’s had the same vision. He reminds her of the island people’s belief that two people meant to be together will have been together always, over the course of many lifetimes. She asks how he found her and he tells her how he is the healer the chief spoke of and how fate must have brought him back to the island to save her life. Ian tells her of his love for her and how he cannot live without her, but Eve wants to know what about his life in Port Charles, the wife waiting for him and the plane that’s leaving in a few hours. Ian says they’re missing that plane and they lock in a passionate embrace. The speed of Eve’s recovery is simply amazing, a doctor as talented as Ian really should be employed.
Lucy, looked dejected, comes to the hospital for an appointment with Dr. Newman the OB/GYN. Kevin overhears and asks her about it. She lashes out at Kevin with a reminder to stay out of her life. Victor tries to greet Lucy warmly but she storms off. The purpose of Lucy’s checkup is to determine if it’s possible for her to become pregnant. Dr. Newman shares the cold, hard truth with Lucy – coupled with her past physical problems, the virus Rachel injected into her has robbed her of her fertility. There will be no babies in Lucy’s future. Dr. Newman is concerned about her emotional state but Lucy assures the doctor that she is fine and it’s better to know the truth. Meanwhile, Kevin shares the story of the pregnancy scare with Victor and admits to his father that having a baby with Lucy would have meant everything to him. He says that he’s a jerk and doesn’t know how to repair his relationship with Lucy. On the verge of breaking down, Lucy dashes for the elevator. Victor advises Kevin to go after her. The phone rings at the nurses’ station and Colleen tells Kevin that there’s a woman on the roof, she may be trying to jump. He dashes off and discovers that the woman teetering at the edge of the roof is none other than Lucy.
