On the first day of “Port Charles – Time in a Bottle,” Karen (away at a pediatric seminar) and Frank (home working on the computer) engage in some telephone foreplay. Just as things are getting hot, they are interrupted – Karen by the maid knocking on the door, and Frank by the computer finally deciding to come to life. They plan for Frank to come and spend a weekend (finally, there will be no computer for them to hide behind!).

After Lucy nearly sets her new kitchen on fire attempting to cook breakfast for Kevin, the two lovebirds cuddle on the couch when they’re interrupted by Lucy’s doorbell. It’s Lucy’s neighbor, carrying Sigmund (who we haven’t seen in ages). He’s very agitated over the fact that Sigmund, who escaped from Lucy’s yard, has bitten his dog. The neighbor becomes even more un-neighborly when he punches Kevin, who proceeds to pound the guy to a pulp. Kevin tries to take humor in the chaos that defines life with Lucy. Lucy tells Kevin that her divorce papers from Scott have arrived. He asks if she is having second thoughts and she says that she’s not, but it is a reminder to her of something else that she’s failed at. Kevin tries to calm her, and tells her that what’s between them is right. Lucy wonders why they can’t have the “normal” life she thinks they deserve (try looking in the mirror). He tells Lucy that despite their mistakes, he wouldn’t trade a moment of time he spent with her, that they are where they’re supposed to be and that trying to stifle her would be like “throwing a blanket over a shooting star.”

Back on the island, Maya has given both Eve and Ian the powerful herb of love. The chief is angry with Maya and says she’s made a dangerous and perhaps deadly mistake. Maya blesses them and asks that the power of their love keep them safe. Ian and Eve share a dream of a past life in 18th century Paris, where Ian is a struggling artist and Eve, the wife of a wealthy man, is his model. In the fantasy, Eve is arrogant and rude to Ian, but her manner only challenges him to try to seduce her (does this remind anyone else of their early days together in Port Charles?). Finally, Eve demands to see her portrait, and realizes it’s finished. Ian admits he finished the portrait weeks ago but had her return to pose for him so he could continue to look at her. She then sees another portrait of herself, a much more revealing one. She is shocked and horrified that he’s used her. Ian tells her the painting is her freedom and that she should be free to be the woman she wants to be. They are also interrupted – by her servant knocking on the door. The servant is sent away and they begin to undress. Watching Eve and Ian in their herb-induced slumber, the chief tells Maya that the lovers may be lost in time forever.

On tomorrow’s P.C., the INS visits Arianna; Eve recovers but Ian is still lost in the fantasy and Livvie & Jack share a kiss.
