Ian and Eve are in his apartment in the Scanlon house. After they kiss, Eve expresses her fears over what the chief said: their love would be tested. She wonders if something might keep them apart. Ian is going to find a place for Arianna to live where she'll be safe. His married days are numbered. Eve offers to console him. As they are kissing, the INS woman knocks at the door and calls out for "Mrs. Thornhart." She comes down the stairs and isn't too surprised to see Eve there with Ian. She tells them that she had heard rumors about them. Eve and Ian say they are friends and colleagues. The INS woman thinks they are much more than that. Ian tells the woman that her statement is an insult to Eve and his wife. The woman leaves, telling Ian that she will definitely be back. Ian realizes that he isn't wearing his wedding band and remembers that Eve took it off when they made love. Eve thinks that they should stay away from each other. They don't want Arianna to be sent back home where she would probably be killed.

Alison and Jamal are getting the bike shop ready for its opening. The radio is playing. Alison is getting snacks ready. Amanda enters and is appalled by the loud music. Alison gives her an icy reception. Amanda tells them that she is there to make a peace offering. She wants Alison and Jamal to come and live in the east wing of her mansion. Of course, they will have separate rooms. Alison can go to college. Amanda will find a suitable job for Jamal. Jamal asks Alison to leave the room so he can talk to "Nana" alone. Jamal tells Amanda that he and Alison are in love and doing fine by themselves. Amanda doesn't think it can last. Jamal gives Amanda a flier about the Grand Opening of the bike shop. After Amanda leaves, Alison tells Jamal that Amanda was phony. Jamal thinks that Amanda truly loves her granddaughter. Outside, Amanda crumples up the flier and throws it away.

Gabriela comes to visit Arianna at her new apartment, which is Frank and Courtney's old apartment. She is amazed and impressed at how cozy it looks already. Arianna tells her that she wanted to make it a place where Ian would want to live *forever.* Gabriela is stunned at Arianna's choice of words. She reminds Arianna what kind of marriage she has with Ian. Arianna says she wants to make Ian happy. Things have changed now that Eve left town. Gabriela is taken aback. Eve? Is she the one Ian has been pining for? Now it all makes sense to Gabriela. She remembers all the time Ian and Eve spent together and then how they were held captive. Arianna screams at Gabriela to stop talking about Ian and Eve. Gabriela tells Arianna that she's headed for trouble if she's trying to become more like Eve. Arianna opens the door for Gabriela to leave. When she's alone, she vows to Ian that she'll make their marriage work.

Eve is at GH, flashing back to kissing Ian on the island. Gabriela interrupts her thoughts, saying she's surprised to see her.

After talking to Joe on the phone and finding out where Arianna is, Ian goes to the new apartment. There is champagne chilling and candles are lit all over. Arianna enters, wearing a sweet, alluring nightgown.
