Port Charles Update for Friday, 9-Mar-2001

In the on-call room, Eve opens Ian's locker, takes out his coat, fondling and smelling it. Kevin enters. They are nice to each other. Eve tells Kevin that she is staying at the PC hotel. Kevin worries about her because he thinks that Ian always hurts her and now he's married. Eve blurts out that Ian doesn't love Arianna. She's upset with herself that she has revealed this, but with Kevin's insistence, she tells him the whole story, including the fact that Arianna would be in danger if she returned home. She also tells Kevin about Ian saving her life when she was so sick on the island. Kevin is tired of hearing about Ian being a hero. However, he is grateful to him because he still cares about Eve. Kevin tells Eve that he and Lucy have "worked things out" between them. He thinks that this time they have a shot. Eve says she doesn't see what Kevin sees in Lucy. They agree to support each other's new lives. They hug.

Frank is in his garage, at his computer and looking at a photo of Karen. He is pleased that "Nellie" turned on with his first attempt. He looks at the screen. It says "I feel so alone." Frank is baffled. When Neil comes in, Frank asks him if he has been on the computer. Neil answers no. Neil teases Frank about being on the computer so much. Frank sends a message to Karen. He gets a message on his screen: "I'm so in love". Frank smiles and wonders out loud: "Karen?" He puts it in his save file and calls Karen on the phone. When he refers to the email, she tells him that she didn't get one, but is happy to hear that Nellie is working. Frank is now totally dumbfounded and wonders who is sending him messages. Back on his computer, he gets another message: "I've never felt like this before." He types "who is this"

At a nurses' station, Joe surprises Gabriela with a hug. She tells him she'd like to kill him. He didn't tell her that Eve is the one Ian is in love with. Joe asks how she found out. Gabriela says in the worst possible way - from Arianna. If she had known how Ian felt about Eve, she would never have helped Arianna become more like Eve. She feels very badly for Arianna. Arianna has had a rough life and it will continue when Ian ends their marriage. As Joe and Gabriela are talking about Ian's new apartment, Eve comes along, overhears and mumbles to herself "what's going on, Ian?"

At their new apartment, Ian tells Arianna that Joe said they live here now. Arianna, since the end of the last show, is now covering herself with a blanket. She hopes Ian isn't upset with her decision. He says that it will all work out. Ian tells Arianna that they should start inviting neighbors over. They should start a scrapbook of their life together. She brightens up, until Ian says all this would be to impress the INS people. She wants to know about Ian's time on the island. He tells her how he saved a "person" who was very sick. Ian goes to take a shower. The doorbell rings. Arianna answers it, after taking the blanket off. It's Eve, who is surprised to see Arianna in her nightie and even more surprised to see Ian come out half-undressed.

Kevin is talking to Colleen about a gunman whom he has recently admitted. The man went off his meds and was suffering from depression. The wife of the man comes along and starts yelling at Kevin. She blames him for everything. The woman slashes Kevin's hand. A security guard restrains her and removes her from the scene. Colleen wants to take Kevin to the ER.
