Kevin barges into the bike shop asking when his bike will be ready. He is surprised to see Jack is the one working on his bike. Kevin asks Jack how the tug-of-war is going - the one that he and Chris are playing over Livvie. Jack admits that he made mistakes with Livvie. He went after her because he wanted revenge on Chris. Things changed. He and Livvie were honest with each other.

When Karen joins Frank in his garage, she is anxious to talk on the computer with Cookie. She explains how she identifies with her. As Karen tugs at her locket, we shift to Cookie, who is also playing with her locket as she sits at her computer. Cookie's drunken father enters and flies into a rage when he sees Cookie at the computer. Throughout this scene, we never see Cookie's face. Cookie's father goes to yank off the necklace. Cookie reminds him that someone special gave it to her. Unable to connect with Cookie, Frank and Karen talk about their high school years. Karen remembers watching Frank the jock making out in the football stands. She thought he could never be interested in someone like her. She was an honor student by day and the lonely daughter of an alcoholic by night. Frank wishes he had known. He and his family had to deal with his father's heavy drinking. Maybe he could have helped Karen in some way. They wonder how different things would be if they could change some choices they made in the past. We see Cookie crying, sitting at her computer.

At GH, Livvie tells Chris that he is the one she wants, while Lucy eavesdrops. Chris gets paged to his office. He and Livvie do some smooching before he leaves. Lucy comes rushing over to Livvie and asks her if she is planning on having sex with "that idiot, Chris." Livvie says that she and Chris are soulmates. It's the only explanation as to how he knew her favorite group and how he knew she wanted to be a doctor. Lucy doesn't have an answer but she's sure that Chris does not have ESP. In his office, Chris thanks Kim, Estelle's nurse, for bringing Livvie's diary to him. He wants to make a copy. Kim is afraid that Livvie will miss it before tomorrow morning. Chris says that he'll keep Livvie busy. After Kim leaves, he reads the diary. Livvie writes how thrilled she would be to start college. The only regret she would have would be that trip she had planned to take with a friend to Paris. Guess who is watching him read Livvie's diary? Yup - Lucy thinks to herself that Chris is a snake..... he isn't reading Livvie's mind..... he's reading her diary. Lucy comes in, very nonchalantly. She tells Chris that she and Kevin are ready to "tolerate" Chris. Chris gives her some digs about almost sleeping with Jack. Livvie comes in and wonders if Lucy is giving Chris a hard time. Chris explains why Lucy is there. Lucy leaves them alone, goes into the hall and closes the door to the staircase loudly enough for them to hear. She lurks outside the office until Livvie and Chris leave for dinner. Then she sneaks into the office, finds the diary, and takes it. Outside Chris' apartment, Lucy calls Kevin on her cell phone, telling him that something has comeup, so she'll be late. Benny, the super, comes along and Lucy says that Dr. Ramsey is her good friend. She shows him a key and says that Chris gave it to her but she can't open the door. Would he please use his master key and let her in? She flirts and slips him $50. Inside, Lucy tries to decide where to leave the diary to make sure Livvie will find it. Because she leaves the door open ajar, we know someone will come in. Kevin walks in, surprising her. She wants to know how he found her. He says it was easy. She left her cell phone on and he heard her whole conversation with the super. Kevin wants to get out of there before Chris and Livvie return. Lucy tells Kevin how Chris was trying to make Livvie believe they were soulmates by reading her diary. Kevin is outraged. Kevin and Lucy hear Chris and Livvie at the door. They skipped dinner because Livvie wants him to show her the surprise he has for her.
