The oldies (well newies for our little Miss Cookie) keep on playing as Cookie’s message to Frank is interrupted once again by her drunken father. Karen and Frank are at odds over Cookie and their role in her life, Karen wants Cookie to see a professional while Frank thinks that considering their past that they absolutely have to reach out to Cookie. Eve and Ian are reaching out meanwhile – to each other. Here a grab, there a grab, everywhere a grab grab. One kiss says a breathless Eve won’t hurt anyone. So they do. Kiss each other once many many times. Arianna walks into her room to discover a dashing for her Ben in wait. Eve and Ian rip off clothes and it’s time for the credits.
Cookie’s Dad is unhappy that Cookie is messing with the stupid computer again. He wonders if Cookie has any friends and with fatherly concern comments that Cookie is stranger than ever. He’s never known what to make of her. That’s because you are always drunk Cookie unsmartedly replies, Dad responds with a slap. Frank wants Karen to think about how neat it would have been if someone had reached out to her when she was a teen. Karen remains steadfastly unconvinced. Karen feels that the computer and Cookie are taking over their lives. Ben again rushes Arianna as Eve and Ian discuss how great it is that Arianna is safe between kisses and grabs. Arianna clutches her scrapbook as Ben menaces and informs Arianna that it’s over. Eve and Ian make love as Ari desperately informs Ben that Ian will be there any minute now (only if he’s very very quick). Ben explains that Ian is in the hospital with his – rhymes with door (says your modest updater).
Ben explains that when he is through with Arianna he is paying Eve and Ian a little visit and pulls out a switch blade knife. Next thing we know, there is blood all over Ben’s hand and blood all over Ari. There is a knock on the door, Kevin who apparently was in the neighborhood and decide to say howdy to his good friend Ian, calls out for Ian and Ari. Arianna makes noises and Kevin our hero with very strong feet kicks in the door. Eve and Ian are still in the bed and while they continue their marathon session flashback to the time in the cabin because a day without flashbacks is like a day without spinach. Kevin’s kicking in the door manages to hit Ben (gosh Kevy is so talented) who loses his knife but makes his getaway despite Kevin yelling Hey at him twice. Kevin checks Ari’s pulse and asks her if she can hear him. Eve and Ian are still going strong (see what a good daily dose of Irish whiskey will do for your stamina) as very loud annoying music plays in the background. Kevin applies pressure on Ari’s wounds and calls for an ambulance. Ian and Eve still in bed as Kevin announces to himself that Ari’s pulse is thready.
Eve loves Ian so very much and hopes that it will always be like this and just in case she hasn’t jinxed fate enough she adds that now she knows nothing can keep them apart. The nothing that will keep them apart still has Kevin watching over her as he tells her not to give up. Cookie’s Dad (would he be cake?) has had enough of Cookie’s lip. Cookie is sorry. Dad is ready to turn off computer for good. Cookie swears she needs it for a science (fiction) project but Dad is unconvinced. Karen is not enjoying her life as a character in a Sci-fi movie and is too weirded out by Cookie’s lack of knowledge of the internet and Nellie’s inability to hook up to it. Karen doesn’t believe in Nellie or that Nellie brought them together anymore and intends to give Cookie the teen hotline number (which should do her tons of good) and sign off Nellie for good. As Karen and Cookie’s Dad reach for the computer, it (they) shock both of them.
Kevin and Ari arrive at the ER where Joe and Gabby await. Kevin gives a description of Arianna’s attacker, which Gabriela recognizes as Big Bad Brother Ben. Kevin heads off to the police station while Joe and Gabby work on Arianna. Eve thinks she is an idiot, thank you says Ian, no says Eve because she doubted they would get together. Ari’s safe and they get to begin their new life. And again they kiss. Joe puts in a chest tube and orders the OR to be readied. Ian and Eve continue to discuss weighty matters such as a stone or wood house (no bricks in PC?) and one story or two for their numerous children and how old they will grow together and how Ian likes the twinkle in Eve’s eye and her laughter and then the lovefest is gosh darn interrupted by dueling beepers. They are both needed in E.R.
Cookie’s Dad is shocked and informs Cookie she is getting screwier by the minute. Karen wants to forget about the computer and Cookie (one little shock and she gets cold-hearted about poor little Nellie.) Cookie’s Dad spots the broken necklace in Cookie’s hand and Cookie will die before she lets Dad have the necklace. Karen and Frank turn the electricity off and shut down Nellie. They are leaving to go to dinner at Jamal and Allison’s when Karen realizes she has lost her necklace. It has a clasp that won’t stay fixed, and Frank quickly locates it. Karen has had the necklace forever. Kevin explains to the nice policeman that Ben is Ari’s brother and is honor killing her, because of pride and ignorance. No need for an APB, Ben shows up with a flunkie and reaches into his jacket. Watch out yells Kevin as all the unknown policemen pull out their guns. Eve and Ian find Arianna who flatlines, you are not going to die on me the better-late-than-never Ian says as he grabs the paddles and we are outta here.
