Jack brings Sam to his apartment. She comes on to him. They kiss. She says she wants to take the next step - his bed. Jack resists Sam's advances and tells her that doing anything with her would complicate his life right now. After Sam leaves, Jack takes out a picture of him and Livvie and lies down on his bed.

At General Hospital, Eve tells Kevin that if anything happens to Arianna, Ian will always feel guilty for not being there with her. She will also. Kevin doesn't understand. Eve tells him that while Arianna was being attacked, she and Ian were "together." Kevin tries to convince Eve that she should not feel guilty. As he hugs her, Kevin's pager goes off. It's the psych ward.

Karen and Frank have dinner at the bike shop with Alison and Jamal. They praise Alison for how nice the place looks. When Alison leaves for a moment, she sees Livvie lurking in the shadows outside. Livvie says she's trying to get up her nerve to go and talk with Jack. She wants to tell him what a huge idiot she's been. Inside, Karen tells Jamal about Cookie, talking to her without a server and how impossible the whole situation is. Frank looks sad. Jamal is amused. Outside, Alison is thrilled at the possibility of Livvie and Jack getting back together. When Livvie tells her that she finally realizes what a jerk Chris is, Alison is relieved. When Alison goes back inside, she is surprised that Karen and Frank are leaving. When they are gone, Jamal says he opened up a whole can of worms. Alison is amazed because Karen and Frank were lovey-dovey when she left. Livvie comes in but decides she should leave also. Alison gives her keys to Jack's apartment. Livvie leaves just before Jack comes in. Chomping on a sandwich, he tells Alison that he's there to finish a job. Alison tells him to go to his apartment. He'll be surprised. At Jack's apartment, Livvie turns on a light and finds Sam, naked, in Jack's bed. Sam says she knows that Livvie is the "Mafia Princess." Confused and embarrassed, Livvie leaves through one door seconds before Jack enters through another door. Surprised to find Sam in his bed, he asks her to leave. She says that this is his last chance. Livvie goes back to the bike shop and tells Alison that going to Jack's was the worst idea she ever had. Livvie leaves. Now Alison is confused. Jamal asks her what is going on. Jack enters through the back door. He says "Nice surprise, Alison. You really think I wanted that?" He leaves through the front door. Jamal asks Alison what is going on and Alison tells him that she was trying to get Livvie and Jack back together. Outside, Karen and Frank are returning from a walk. She's still upset that he's obsessed with the computer. He tells her that he no longer is obsessed with Nellie. He asks Karen to come back to his place. While they are kissing, Karen's pager goes off. At Cookie's, the radio talks about Watergate and 70's music. The computer screen shows her message to Frank. It asks why he won't speak to her. Is his girlfriend jealous?

Ian confronts Ben. He is surprised he escaped from the psych ward. Ben pulls out a switchblade. He says he's tired of Ian's interference. He lunges at Ian. They struggle. A long fistfight ensues. Finally, Ian overpowers Ben and pins him up against a fence, asking him how it feels to have someone hold his life in their hands. Eve comes along, and calls Ian's name. Ben takes advantage of Ian's being distracted and overpowers him now. Eve lunges at them. The fence that they had been struggling against opens. Ben falls and holds on for his life. Kevin enters and holds Eve back. When he sees that Ian can't hold onto Ben's hand and pull him up, he goes to help. Despite their efforts, Ben falls. Kevin tells Ian to let him take care of it and to get Eve out of there. Ian and Eve embrace. She doesn't know what she would have done if she had lost him. She loves him.
