Port Charles Update for Tuesday, 17-Apr-2001

Following an episode of her mother's relapse into alcoholism, Karen expresses frustration and doubt to Frank about the state of her own sobriety, and her children's future as children (and grandchildren) of an addict. Frank assures her he is going nowhere, and is falling in love with her and will stick around for whatever befalls them.(she melts!) Karen also makes Frank promise he will discontinue his efforts with Cookie, after she stands them up for a meeting at Kelly's.

Eve expresses her distress over Arianna's fragile state. When Arianna awakens, she asks to see Eve. She thanks Eve for saving her life (Gabby told her about her arrest). Eve feels so guilty she leaves the room. Ian questions Eve and Eve tells him that she feels guilty for wishing that Arianna had left and gone back to "wherever she came from" so that she and Ian could be together. However, she tells Ian she is ready to talk, as she is beginning to believe what he said about them not being able to be together. Eve tells Ian that Arianna needs him now, as he is her will to live. Ian tells her he will never love anyone else, and then leaves. Eve is distraught. She removes herself from Arianna's case as her doctor.

On the next Port Charles, Karen calls Arianna's Dad, Eve and Kevin get assistance with their impending divorce (while Lucy, of course, looks on), and Ian keeps company with his sister Granya (now deceased).
