Ian continues to have visions of and conversations with his dead sister. She asks why he needs her there. He has friends in Port Charles. His sister tells Ian that he blames himself for everybody's misfortunes: hers, the African children's, Arianna's, Eve's. He doesn't want to hurt people. The phone rings. When Ian looks back to where his sister sat, she is gone.
At General Hospital, Karen is on the phone with Arianna's father. Not only does he have no interest in being tested to see if he can be a donor for his daughter, but he forbids any family member to do so. Karen is outraged at his lack of caring. She goes to a computer to look up liver donors. Chris reminds her that there are long waiting lists for organ donors. He thinks that she is too stressed and suggests that she attend a Narcotics Anonymous meeting. Karen walks away, disgusted with Chris. She calls Eve's cell phone and leaves a message that she needs her.
Frank is back on his computer, talking with Cookie. They both insist that they were at Kelly's. Cookie says she sat at the table by the window. Frank says he was at that table and demands to know what kind of game she's playing. Cookie says that she can prove she was at the window table. She carved her name. Frank says that he saw her name but it looked like it was there for years. Cookie mentions listening to the radio while at Kelly's and hearing about Watergate. Frank asks her what year it is. She answers: 1973. He questions her about different things in 1973 after looking in an encyclopedia. They talk about the Vietnam War. They both get upset and think the other one is crazy, especially when Frank explains that it's 2001.
At the Port Charles Grille, Lucy looks on as Eve is horrified to think that Kevin has arranged for the lawyer to meet with them. She has just finished crying about her life. Lucy interrupts and admits that it was she who is responsible for the lawyer being there. Kevin tells Lucy that she had no right to do that. Lucy apologizes to Eve. Lucy walks away, but watches them from across the room. Eve says it is time that they start divorce proceedings. "It's past time." After a long emotional embrace, Eve leaves. A waiter comes over to Kevin with a napkin from Lucy. She has written that she's sorry and didn't mean to cause him or Eve any pain.
At General Hospital, Ian asks Chris how his work on the computer is going. He takes over at the keyboard. Eve comes along. Chris notices the silent, sad looks that Eve and Ian exchange. He follows Eve to the on-call room. Eve is upset that she made bad decisions recently. Chris gives her a back rub and tells her that Kevin and Ian are fools for letting an amazing woman like her get away. After Eve falls asleep, Chris gets paged and leaves. Karen comes in and goes to the showers without noticing Eve. Ian enters, sees Eve asleep and covers her with a blanket. Alone, Karen puts tubing around her arm, apparently preparing to take her own blood.
