Port Charles Update for Tuesday, 22-May-2001

Arianna continues to slowly die, while Ian struggles to save her. Frank is still in 1973, but fading. His breathing labored and pulse weak, Kevin fears he may die if he doesn't come out of the herb-induced coma soon.

Ian tells Kevin that he isn't sure why he thought he could save Arianna this way, and doubts why he allowed Frank to travel back in time. When Kevin asks him about this and refers to the time on the island that Ian and Eve spent in the 1800's, Ian reveals to Kevin that it wasn't time travel, it was reliving past lives. Kevin is furious, as he now realizes Ian is playing with Frank's life and unsure of the effects of the herbs, how they work and what will eventually happen.

Ian tells Kevin that Frank wanted to go back in time to get Karen. He tells Kevin that the herbs he and Eve took allowed them to go to go back to a place where two souls that were meant to be together had met before, and the love they felt then was as strong as it is today. He tells Kevin that Frank came to him and told him he had someone he had lost in time, and that person was a match for a donor for Arianna, and that in the desperation Frank was in to get Karen back, and the desperation Ian was to make Arianna well again, they together could make it happen. Seeing that Ian is hoping to get Arianna well again, so he and Eve could be together, Kevin reminds Ian that the transplant could fail, and he doesn't believe Ian would be able to turn his back on Arianna, thereby hurting Eve again.

Frank continues to get weaker. Then his eyes are moving and he appears to be dreaming. Chief says that Frank's experience is growing more intense in his alternate universe.

Eve wakens in the monestary and continues talking with Michael. She tells him she is pregnant but is grateful for a second chance to have a child. She tells Michael that the father is the man she loves, but he doesn't know she is carrying his child.

Michael tells Eve that she can tell him anything, but its good for her to talk, for her and the baby. Eve tells him that the baby's father is...unavailable. He has priorities that come first. Eve tells Michael that her friend (aka Chris) has offered to marry her to give the baby a home with 2 parents. He is good to her, knows her well, blah, blah, blah. Michael tells her he wonders how she or anyone could marry someone they like, when they have been with someone they love? Eve tells Michael that meeting him has been wonderful, and they part company. As Eve starts into the cabin, she sees a fire in the fireplace, and bursts in thinking Ian is there, only to be met by Chris.

Frank finds Cookie at Carolyn's memorial service. He tells her that she needs to trust him that what he is about to tell her is true, even though it may seem bizarre. Frank tells Cookie that he has seen the future, and that he lives in the year 2001. Frank convinces Cookie (through telling her some things he could never know without knowing the future-very quick thinking!) that he is from the future and she needs to help him. He promises her that if she helps him, she will never be alone. Cookie gives him the key to her house so he can go get to the computer. Cookie is afraid she will never see him again, but Frank tells her they will meet again, in the future. Kevin continues to push the Chief and Ian to take Frank out of the coma, as he seems to be fading.

On the next Port Charles, Frank finally gets to Cookie's computer, and Ian agrees with Kevin that they need to pull Frank out of the coma right away.
