Port Charles Update for Thursday, 24-May-2001

Karen's BACK! As Frank continues (circa 1973) to destroy Cookie's computer (thereby re-creating Karen), he grows weaker. As he yanks one last wire, he collapses and ends up waking in bright, white surroundings. He assumes he has probably died, and with anguish, tells Karen he is sorry he couldn't save her, and questions why, when he was willing to give his life, could he not save the woman he loved.

The mystery of Jamal's race is solved. As Allison and Jamal are talking about the race, Zack and Sam drop by the shop to "wish Jamal luck". Jamal tells them he doesn't believe them, and obviously they are checking to make sure he is still racing. They leave him a packet with registration materials and the new issue of motorcyle monthly (or something similar!) and leave. As soon as Allison gets a look at the pictures of some of the accidents that can happen at the races, she is horrified. She realizes Jamal could be killed or seriously injured, and that he must want to race, rather than having to. She goes back to their apartment to pack her bags and move out, telling Jamal she can't bear to watch him get hurt or die. He tells her he will be fine because he knows how to race safely, and he has her to wait for him at the finish line. He assures her he will be fine.

Jack is being cared for by Livvie as he recuperates from the fall in the woods. But it appears he had a little bit of a head injury. His behavior is seeming (to the outsider) a little eratic. Livvie doesn't see it, but he snaps at Livvie and immediately apologizes. She gets him something to eat, and they make love.

As Frank collapses in the white room again, he thinks he's dead, and he hears Karen's voice calling his name. As he rises, he goes toward her voice, and appears back in present day! He tells her how grateful he is to see her and how much he loves her and will never leave her. She tells him he will have to leave her side for a little while, as she is going in for the transplant surgery, to save Arianna's life. She is obviously touched by his love for her, and tells him she loves him too.

On the next Port Charles, Arianna and Ian discuss plans for the future, Michael the Priest has some answers for Eve, and Frank tries to tell Karen about his time travel.
