Port Charles Update for Wednesday, 30-May-2001

Jamal gets ready for his motorcycle race, as Allison tries desperately to tell him how opposed she is. She is afraid he will get hurt and tries to convince him not to race. But he is determined to get the race over, and Allison gets a little hint that he seems a little too excited (not just doing this to get out of heat with Zack). She asks him to take her on one last ride before the race starts, and he takes her out on the open road. When they stop, she tells him she is worried, but now understands. He is relived she has finally seen his side. She promptly takes the keys out of the ignition and throws them in the field, as he looks on, horrified at what she has done.

Karen has returned home from the hospital, where Frank is committed to caring for her and not leaving her side. Karen asks Frank about his "story" to her about time travel, and rescuing the one you love and whether he thinks this is possible. Of course, he tells her yes. Scott and Rhonda come over to see Karen, and convince Frank to take a break and go get some rest. As the talking ensues, Rhonda tells Karen and Scott that she almost didn't make it to the dance (at which Karen was conceived) because she had been corresponding with a friend who had her pretty well talked out of going. As Karen starts hearing this story, she starts hearing familiar phrases, and asks Rhonda what the name of this friend was. She tells him that, oddly enough, his name is FRANK! Karen is starting to figure it out.

Meanwhile, Frank has gone to Carolyn's grave to take her flowers and tell her that Karen is living Carolyn's dreams and she would be proud of her. He also tells Carolyn's gravestone...that he fears this secret he is keeping from Karen about time travel will tear them apart, and he doesn't want any secrets, but to protect her, he must not tell her anything. (He can't mess with destiny!).

Ian has gone in search of Eve and goes to the cabin where they pledged their love to each other. He doesn't see her there, but feels her presence. Granya appears and tells him he needs to follow his heart, not leave the cabin, and don't give up on Eve. Their love will be worth the sacrifices and effort. So he stakes a spot outside the cabin and waits. Eve has gone to visit the priest Michael. He comes out of a room that he seems pretty bent on hiding!... and gives her a wooden cradle he made for her (to keep the baby safe??? is what he says) but you get the distinct impression there is more to him and it may not all be "heavenly" (kinda creepy!)

Lucy and Serena go to the woods to have a picnic and finish her ladybug badge and run into Ian. As they bump into each other, Lucy's "Stranger" tarot card falls out of her purse and it spooks her. Ian asks her about it, and she says that it means there is going to be harm come to him or someone he knows. That's enough for him-he's taking Lucy and Serena to the car and looking for Eve.

On the next Port Charles...Karen wonders about Frank's time travel, Ian continues to look for Eve, and Zack issues a threat to Jack about Jamal.
