Lucy tries frantically to get a hold of Ian. She’s been worried about him since the encounter in the woods when she flogged him with her pocketbook and the Stranger card fell out. Meanwhile, she’s also trying to recruit a “dresser” to help her into and out of her gowns for the upcoming nurses’ ball. Her friend Don and Colleen both turn her down, as does Kevin who she tried to flatter into the job – however, he thought Lucy was suggesting they go up to his office for a nooner. When her tricks don’t work on Kevin, she shares her worry about Ian with him. She speaks very fondly of Ian and remembers how he was the person who really helped her last year with the Christina situation.
Ian finds Eve in the monastery basement as Caleb looks on. Ian and Eve return to the cabin; she seems much more enthused about their reunion than he does. While Ian and Eve share promises and passion, Caleb gets upstairs and trashes the monastery. In the afterglow of the lovemaking, Ian tells Eve he’s finally forgiven himself for his personal failures. He shares a story of how in his childhood, he and his brother and sister used to watch the stars. Granya used to say a falling star was someone on his or her way to find their true love, and she told Ian that if in the vast, wide world, anyone could find their true love it would be Ian. Eve then finds the Stranger card and asks Ian about it. The stranger that comes to her mind is Michael, but of course, he has been anything but a bad omen. Michael discovers what Caleb has done.
Livvie refuses to abandon dead Jack. She plays the blame game and alternates between raging at Jamal and Alison (who seems no less upset than Livvie). She accuses Alison of never having liked Jack, which Ali vehemently denies and then Livvie lays on the guilt trip, reminding Alison and Jamal of everything Jack had done for them and that they repaid him by getting him killed. Livvie pulls away when Alison tries to offer comfort. Jamal says that he’ll take the blame for what happened and set it right. Jamal tells the girls the deal with Zack, and how given his record and the fight the cops witnessed between him and Jack, that he’ll end up being the one put in jail for Jack’s death (I still am not sure how a motorcycle accident is a crime). Livvie tells Jamal that’s the last thing Jack would want and that no one will be in trouble if no one knows Jack is dead (she loves him so dearly that she wants him left dead in the woods like an animal?). Night falls. Jamal builds a coffin (where the hammer, nails and wood came from, we will never know). Livvie says an emotional goodbye to Jack as Alison cries. She swears to make those responsible for his death pay and hurt for taking him from her, just as he was happy and getting his life together. She vows that he will be her only love. She kisses his bloodstained hand and Alison tells her that it’s time. As Jamal covers the casket, Livvie is obviously in shock and shaking (how she’s going to keep this under wraps in her state of grief is a mystery to us all).
Tomorrow, Lucy receives a photo of Christina; Michael tells Eve and Ian about Caleb; the blood on Jamal’s hands does not go unnoticed.
